Placing the happy couple in the Sahara? Adding lightsabers to the bouquet? Put some Zombies in to recreate a scene from The Walking Dead?
There's a line between sensible and ridiculous. Touching up pictures is fine. Expecting people to be removed is nonsensical. It baffles me that people think otherwise!
Personally I think that would depend what the photos were actually of. If its supposed to be posed photos, then eyesores are just a no no for a pro. If they have taken suitable posed photos and these are just sort of documenting the night.....I don't think the same level of care would be required for those and think it would depend how bad they actually are.
But on top of that....if they've said that package includes all editing, that forms part of the contract so they would be in breach if they refuse to provide the service contracted for.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
A friend of mine is a photographer, one of his wedding couples thought it was simple to turn one of the guests round as they were turning away on one of the pictures... and they couldn't see their face...0

So you would expect removal of people from a wedding shoot?One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

goodness sake Meritaten calm down.
I have no idea as to what is involved so I have no idea in how long it would take or the level of experience needed.
Why does everything have to be a fight at the drop of a hat? Surely a simply call to the photographer saying that the deal paid for includes this service would get the matter sorted2014 Target;

As I said, it would depend! If it were album shots (ie the wedding party) then yes. If it was just documenting the events of the night then no.
Question for OP (if they're still lurking). Did the woman show your daughter in law/son a portfolio to evidence the quality of her work?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Is there confusion here what people are referring to as editing out? I wonder if the OP is meaning they want the photo cropped - very easy to do on photoshop. Whereas the replies and the photographer are thinking they want the items edited out with the background put back in place - certainly not an easy job. I wonder as the OP said she could do this easily herself, anyone who has tried to blend background on a photo will know it is not a simple task unless the items to be removed is very small.0

If I can photoshop an image to exclude 'signs etc' as an amateur - then I would expect a 'professional' to be able to do so.
BUT - my question is 'The Professsional' photographer is now asking £15 per photo to 'edit' - when it clearly states this is part of the package. I don't know how to put it clearer than that! I thought I had made that plain!0 -
Has your DIL actually spoken to the photographer or is everyone getting wound up over a misunderstanding?2014 Target;

No, she is asking for £15 pounds for 20 out of the 60 pictures for your unrealistic demands.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

Blimey, it's no wonder that so many good photographers won't do weddings. It's not the photographer's job to stop people from smoking. They are there to take good quality pictures. What's next? "Oh, the 2nd cousin wasn't smiling. Can you change that?" "Oh, I think I'd prefer to have the mother-in-law wear a red dress. Sort that will you." This is ridiculousOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0
