If you do you must live in a more civilised part of the kingdom than me.
blimey, I must live in such a place - one whiff of a death threat and I'd be off down the police station as fast as my proverbials could carry me.
OP, any chance you could "arrange" a repeat performance in the ear-shot of witnesses then raise the grievance and include names of the witnesses ?
Personally I would put in the grievance now. You can't insist she is fired, that's up to the employer, all you can do is make them aware of what she has done and they should proceed in accordance with their disciplinary policy.0 -

There are quite a few bullies about.
It has long been the case that one deals with a victim from a perspective of belief. The days of dismissing reports of harassment or threats of violence or actual violence according to ones take on the circumstances are (should be) long gone. However, while an investigation should not seek to disprove the claim, it must find weight on one side or the other on the balance of probabilities at least in order to pursue the matter.
There may be 'quite a few bullies about' but there may also be quite a few wet lettuces and/or people who cry wolf about too.0 -
the legalities regarding the phone are fineYes I thought about entrapping them with witnesses. Not sure on the legalities of phone recordings etc though.
The managers would have no doubt what this person is capable of saying this and know I wouldn't make it up.
I just think as it stands they may reject my grievance on the basis of no witnesses as it's the easy way out.
I think the perpetrator may well admit it but play the "i was only joking card".0 -
