Does anyone else have a problem with this person?

The op does suggest she has `previous' so unless that is simply gossip and workplace politics I would imagine so.

I've seen this type of thing myself and if management gauges that the victims face doesn't quite fit then allowances can be made and things swept under the carpet.

Just wondered as the OP has a history of being bullied at work.

I take the op's words as fact.

There are quite a few bullies about.
  • Many just pretend to like said person not to get on the wrong side. Many of her previous victims have simply left or moved departments. I like my job though and she does plenty of previous...it's no secret to anyone what she's like.

Management are poor though but witnessed death threats? Surely they'd have to draw a line there.

Said person doesn't intimidate me. I'd laugh at her outside at work....I want her gone though.

Evidence then! Until then just ignore her and get on with your own life

The grievance procedure is a farce - the bully quickly acquires a self righteous halo and a poor-little-me-I'm-so-misunderstood attitude

It's a failure on the managers part if they have allowed an individual to become a bully within their team . . . . .

Although initial supportive to the target when their managerial inability to identify and deal with a bully is held up to inspection during the grievance investigations, they need someone to pin the blame on.

....... and its usually the "fault" of the target who has initiated the grievance that put the spotlight on them and their shortcomings . . . and the target is then micromanaged so the manager can pick up every tiny error and so justify putting the target on disciplinary or capability reviews

Sorry, but this just doesn't seem to hold water.

If someone threatened my life and I believed they were likely to try then I would go to the police.

However, some people use the phrases such as 'you're dead' etc but don't mean it and it's obviously a hollow threat.

You say you are not scared of her... so, this obviously falls into the latter category.

You need to fill in a grievance form and let the company policies come into play.

From a H&S perspective, your employer has a legal duty to provide a safe work environment and this would include ensuring one free of intimidation.

As to the box on the form asking you what you'd like to happen... that is more for you to say that you want the matter fully investigated, that you would like a change of role or whatever.

You do sound vengeful though so be prepared for your attitude to be noted as well.
    :hello:
  • Perhaps next time you should try to provoke her but have one of thise knives lying around that they use in the movies, the ones with the blade that retracts. Say it's your lunch break and you go and sit opposite them in your canteen, place the knife on the table between you. Then strike up an arguement, the kind where she threatened to kill you, I bet she reacts this time. Rather than threats she'll pick up the fake knife and stab away at you. You could get a friend to film all of this on their mobile. Conclusive proof. Case closed.

Important. Make sure it's not a real knife.
  • How exactly would it benefit you to get her the sack? If she really is aggressive as you say, and she is dismissed, what exactly would stop her from finding out where you lived, and making your life hell?

    Go to the police.
