First of all, sorry if this has been covered but have read forums and think I have got confused.
parked at peel centre @ 18:** for 40mins on */0*/2013 and recieved a parking charge notice. After reading the forums on here I ignored the letter & the next one. Then came the letter from Roxburghe debt collectors which I again ignored, next came the Graham White Solicitors letter which again I ignored, date is now **/06/2013. I have also had 2 messages on my land line from Roxburghe debt collectors asking me to phone them but I didn't. I have just recieved a letter dated **/11/2013 from Newlyn debt collectors saying that they have been instructed by Excel Parking to recover the outstanding charge.
I can't find anything about Newlyn on any forums here. I think I may have got confused reading older posts as the advice has changed in 2013.
Any advice given would be greatly apprieciated.

Read this excellent advisory thread by Coupon-mad, a foremost expert on here. It covers virtually everything you need to know, including how to deal with Debt Collectors like Newlyn.

You say you've done a search on Newlyn, but can't find anything? Not sure you've been pressing the right buttons here, the forum is littered with references about them.
Go to 'Search this Forum' button (next to 'Forum Tools') on the index page and follow the search links there. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks umkomaas, will read it right away.
sorry hadn't actually searched for Newlyn, just not seen em mentioned in any threads that I had read.

Just don't search so randomly that you read stuff about Newlyns bailiffs (completely different kettle of fish)! Covered here only the other day:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4827814
...and if you read my sticky thread 'newbies...read this now!' there is a whole section near the top about DC - Debt Collectors and your options for ignoring, or robustly responding to get shot of them - and/or reporting them to various agencies.
...and next time for Gawd's sake appeal and get our help to win at POPLA. Only today we've had a success from someone about a Peel Centre ticket issued in August, you could have done this too, easily, with our help if only you had checked here on CURRENT threads in July:

HTH - we haven't advised ignoring these fake PCNs since the turn of 2012/early 2013.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks Coupon-mad, just pondering while reading through a post by zzzlazydaisy, am I right in thinking that if I get a LBC letter I can name the driver, as it was the missus that parked there, the process has to start again & then go for POPLA.
Regards0 -
Actually you would be well advised to send Daisy's letter right now to Excel to that effect. No need to wait. They will have nowhere to go but to send a Notice to your wife, seeing as this was always a postal PCN so the driver has never seen it, nor had a chance to appeal it, of course.
You don't have to take this advice - but if it were me I would give a different address for service for the driver than they have been writing to so far - a work or relative's address. Reason being to give Excel no wriggle room to suggest the driver might have already known about the ticket...
...shouldn't need to be a new address BUT IMHO you have to 'play the game' to get the POPLA code. Your wife should then get a Notice and the clock should be re-wound to appeal stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Come back she then gets a Notice to Driver to appeal and then at POPLA stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi please help.
I received a parking ticket at the Peel Centre in Stockport back in June. I bought a ticket but I put the wrong car reg in (I put the opposite car reg to what we were in). With advice I ignored all post from them, until I received a court notice for Northampton Court. This was real! I had mediation today to try and resolve which didn't work. So I have a court hearing for Jan. will I win? If so shall I do a counter claim for my wasted income etc? In my defence I paid for 1 space and used 1 space.
Appreciate any advice0 -
Please don't hijack other people's threads, can you create your own thread below , especially as you have a small claim - thanks

This is so unnecessary but you will have to defend it. Which court please?
Why the heck would you have ignored all the letters when you only had to appeal? No-one here has advised ignoring this sort of ticket since we learnt how to win at POPLA every time... around Easter!
Anyway you will need the BBC article linked in a winning POPLA appeal (this is what you should have done):
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/62187053#Comment_62187053
Read the full BBC article and details linked under 'EXCEL FAILED TO UNDERTAKE THEIR USUAL MANUAL REVIEW OF TICKETS' and for Goodness sake use that in your defence. Print out the BBC article and take it with you to show that an Excel spokesperson said ''However, we do recognise that motorists may input an incorrect digit(s) of their VR number when purchasing a P&D ticket and as such our processing allows for a manual review/quality check of PCN’s before they are issued. Unfortunately, on this occasion our check failed...''
What an utter waste of time this is for you and what a needless worry being victimised like this, when you should have just laughed and beaten them at POPLA with that sort of appeal I just linked (far too late now).
Please tell us the court as there are some online warriors who are local to some and would help you. I hope the Court is Stockport, not Manchester?
PLEASE START A NEW THREAD AS YOU WILL NEED HELP. DO NOT REPLY HERE AS THIS IS NOT YOUR THREAD.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
