Thanks Honeybear. Thats really interesting, thankyou for the info. I had no idea such a list existed. I might think about advertising our spare room, if I can get my head around having strangers in the house that is.

I will definitely have a look at it for Mr PG though. We have often found some reasonable prices on A!r B&B , but it really depends on whereabouts he needs a room.

He seems quite happy with his camping for now, and has been sending us all sunset pics from his varying campsites across the country :rotfl:Must admit though his tiny tent and one chair sitting in the middle of a huge field does look a bit lonely, but he says hes fine. IF I'm honest hes probably enjoying himself a bit too much. He has taken his bike and dreaded lycra mankini and has been taking himself out on lots of lovely long rides after work !! Its almost like hes on holiday !! He could get used to this !! xx

Not much to report on yesterdays Moneysaving efforts really .

A TT to the loan of 43p was made, and another at 86p this morning !

A refund I have been waiting for of £170 arrived into Paypal last night, so I have taken it straight back out and into our now tiny savings pot, as it was borrowed from there in the first place.

Witness statement lodged last night, so now we sit back, put the kettle on and wait once more to see what this now brings.

A couple of extra days work over a weekend was picked up, hopefully when they pay that will go into the savings pot for the tax.

It wasnt a NSD, but it was minimum spends, dinner was leftovers, but we did meet some family at a local Gardens for ice cream in the sunshine. They have annual passes so they used those for me and DD1, I paid £5 entry for DD2, so it didn't work out too expensive and we all had a lovely time.

Last night was movie night with the girls and a tiny glass of the white stuff, to celebrate some lovely family news we had yesterday !

Today is work, work work and then DD2 has some friends for a sleepover tonight, so no doubt will be a noisy evening.

Hoping to catch up on some diaries later, if I can find anyone as I think many of the old gang have started new diaries which I need to seek out.

    Have a good day xxx

Lovely to "see " you Pennywise.

We have had two beautiful sunny days, think we must have got lucky.:)

Today is a different story, grey and windy, but no rain as yet.

Mr PG is up north, and has also mentioned rain and being a bit chilly last night in the tent .

Hopefully our sunshine of yesterday is winging its way to you as I type, I will keep my fingers crossed for you xx

  • PG just a thought and tell me to shut up if its A a stupid idea and B too expensive but have you thought of one of those small camper vans for Mr PG, the transit van size ones. No hotel room costs etc, can cook for himself so no expensive meals out. My in laws have one and when off on there travels will go and have a couple of drinks and ask the landlord if its ok to park up in the car park overnight and 9 times out of 10 they are given the ok.

Like I said if its a stupid idea ignore me.x.

Dont be daft ! You are actually a mind reader, thats a fantastic idea.

We are currently looking for a camper van (transit style ) . Mr PG came home last week and said that if he were to have one, he could actually park over night on the forecourt where he works, the sites usually have showers and therefore he wont have to go smelly  and we wouldn't have to pay to pitchup anywhere, or rent a room. He should also be warm int he winter. He rarely feels the cold anyway. Hadn't thought of the pub idea though, so we can also consider that.

The plan is to sell his current car and buy something as cheap as we can and for Mr PG to convert himself, therefore we should be able to pick something up far cheaper than readily converted. . Hes very handy like that and as he said it would keep him occupied in the evenings as he could work on it while he is away. He did say that possibly if it went well it might be an extra income idea that in the future he may be able to do a few conversions to sell on at a profit.

The other plus is that we love to camp as a family anyway , although life has got in the way these past few summers. I have these crazy wild ideas of jumping in a camper and heading off to Europe Roadtripping, so my dream may well come true.

Now we need to find the perfect van. :)

    Watch this space !!!

Between you and Honey Bear, we are coming up with all sorts of ideas to keep a roof over his head ! Thankyou x

So so lovely to see you posting again Mrs PG!!

Well done on both the girls working and the drains up on the cash flow :( (but I guess now you know) Fab idea re the camper. Certainly sounds like a good idea and more and more sites are open in winter to self contained vehicles if the onsite work option wouldn't always work.

    Keep posting :j

Last nights sleepover went well , but they are still here and I'm trying to work . I have shut myself away but am struggling to concentrate as they are a tad noisy !

DD1 is in work, she has a 10 hour shift and then is off out with her work friends afterwards. I stupidly offered to take her to work and collect her after her night out, completely forgetting that I am on chauffeur duties for DD2 this evening as well. Thats goodbye to my Thursday evening then :rotfl:. When will I learn ? Tomorrow evening is looking much the same, which is annoying really as I am hoping Mr PG will make it home, but by the looks of it, I wont be here .

Nothing to report on the money front as yet. Yesterday was a NSD ( if we don't include a quick food shop ) . DD1 came out with me and bought herself a few bits, it was nice to stand back and watch her pay for them herself. She is hoarding the cash ready for when she goes back to Uni but did treat herself to some Candy Floss pink wash out hair colour which we did this morning before work ! By all accounts my hairdressing skills arent up to much as she thinks the back is patchy , but I disagree !! The last time she had it done was at the hairdressers, they rang me and asked to use her as a model, so she had a £70 hair colouring technique for free, just in time for a weekend away at a festival ! This time though it was down to my amateur skills to get the look she was after :rotfl:

TTs done today - £1.54 to the loan :)

    xx
