Well done for making your public stand against debt. Isn't it odd how much easier it is to do this anonymously to the world than to family and friends. Hi! Yes, you're right its much easier to come clean online in front of strangers than it is to come clean to your mother (I can't and won't!).
No paycuts yet, but that's also on the way. I've been trying to phone our HR dept all morning, just to see if I can get any more details, but all phones are going to voicemail (surprise, surprise!). I get that they're probably being inundated by calls, but the lack of detail is annoying. I suppose they don't know anymore themselves yet.Nationwide cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2720.17 - Current balance £2714.10Halifax cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2779.86 - Current balance - £2751.43Savings - Balance 7/1/14 £750.00 - Current balance - £4000 -

Ipod Nano and headphones all packed up to go back to Amazon. These were an impulse buy just after Christmas. I don't need them and probably won't use them, so they're going back. That's around £120 going back onto my card
Spoken to BF and we're definitely cancelling the gym membership this week. That's £67 we're saving each month.
I'm also stopping paying for DS3's mobile phone contract. He's working now and I've just helped him sort out his own contract, so that's another £21.50 I'll be saving each month :jNationwide cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2720.17 - Current balance £2714.10Halifax cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2779.86 - Current balance - £2751.43Savings - Balance 7/1/14 £750.00 - Current balance - £4000 -
Good morning!
Well, I couldn't post the returns to Amaz*n this morning, I had to arrange for Yodel to come and pick them up tomorrow. I'm off tomorrow anyway, but never sent anything back by Yodel before so I hope it gets to where it should.
I've just checked my cashback account and I have £120 showing as "confirmed" but not "payable" yet. When that comes through, its going straight to one of my cards :T
Brought my lunch into work again today and used yesterdays tinfoil to wrap it up nicely. I wonder how long I can make a piece of foil last
No more Eb*y bids yet, but its still early days. Not much else to report today.

Morning! I'm not very good at updating this diary am I, but at least I'm still here every day lurking on other people's diaries and marvelling at the strength of some people here.
Its a very cold, wet and horrible day here. Work is very quiet at the moment, so I'm having a quick coffee break. I resisted the urge this morning to stop for a "posh" coffee and thought instead of all the pennies I've saved this week, by making my own!
The situation at work is currently very shaky and the morale amongst staff is at an all time low
. I'm trying to adopt a positive "one door closes and other one opens" attitude, but its not easy and I'm probably annoying the life out of people in the process, but there you go!
The worst thing that can happen is that I won't be able to pay my mortgage. If that happens, I'll sell my house (or try to anyway). I have about 60% equity which would be enough to buy a small terraced house and be mortgage free. So, if the worst thing that happens to me this year is that I have to downsize, then thats what I'll have to do
On the moneysaving front, I've just checked my Eba* account and have 4 items selling today which should bring in about £40 which can go towards my cards. The Yodel courier didn't turn up when he was meant to, but came the next day. Luckily I was off that day too, so hopefully that money should be going back onto my card before long.
I made some lobscouse on Monday which lasted us for two days and was delicious. I actually tastes better after a day or two, but its so nice, it never actually lasts more than a couple of days in our house.
Tonights dinner is JP with chicken thighs. We're trying to eat less fatty foods, but I'm already craving chocolate and its only been 3 days :rotfl:
I've been suffering a bit with the post Christmas blues, so things that need doing have been piling up a bit. I've been doing the cleaning/ironing/washing etc, but its the little extra jobs that have been neglected, so I've decided to give myself a list of things to do. Its not just a list for things to do now, but a list of stuff that I'd like to get done in the next couple of months.
My list of things to do:-
1. Paint my mum's kitchen and arrange for the Council to come and pick up some bulky refuse.
2. Paint our bedroom
3. Pant the spare bedroom
4. Sort through my paperwork cupboard and shred all the old stuff.
5. Get the garden into some sort of order.
6. Keep Eba*ing like a mad woman!
I'm sure I thought of more things last night, but I can't remember any more at the moment, so will add to this list as I go.
I hope everyone else has a good day xNationwide cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2720.17 - Current balance £2714.10Halifax cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2779.86 - Current balance - £2751.43Savings - Balance 7/1/14 £750.00 - Current balance - £4000 -
Back again! Didn't go to work today - bad stomach

I suppose I could have gone, but felt really low today, so phoned in sick. I should've made the effort!
BF says I should go to the doc's, he thinks I may be depressed.
I think I just need to buck up my ideas!
I've been considering opening an eb*y shop for a while now, so yesterday I spent £340 ish on stock for my new enterprise. I'm going to do it properly, register for tax and hopefully come out the other side in profit
My stock hasn't arrived yet, so I've been taking advantage of the free listing and sorting through some old clothes. I've also gone through my old paperwork so I can tick one thing off my list.
I suppose I'd better go and make the tea. Tonight it's leftover shepherds pie from last night, with carrot and swede mash.
I'll be back tomorrow with another update, hopefully in a better frame of mind xNationwide cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2720.17 - Current balance £2714.10Halifax cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2779.86 - Current balance - £2751.43Savings - Balance 7/1/14 £750.00 - Current balance - £4000 -
Good morning! I can't believe its been 10 days since my last update.
My eb*y shop is all set up but number of items sold so far is a big fat 0!! I haven't given up yet, though because maybe I've priced things a little too high. I need to look at them again!
Just checked my online banking and brought my sums up to date. Also just checked my credit card balances. They have gone down, but only just and nowhere near where I wanted to be this month. Anyway, on the positive side, everything is on there now so we have no more nasty surprises left over since Christmas.
Things are just going from bad to worse at work at the moment. All these rumours flying about and nobody giving us a straight answer. To cut a long story short, I've had enough of the uncertainty and even if I keep my job, I've worked out that I'll be about £400 worse off each month
Soooo, I've started looking around for something else and applied for one job already. I sent my CV off this morning, so please keep everything crossed for me
Not a lot else to report really. I just transferred £40 out of my paypal account into my Bank Account after I sold a few bits over the weekend.
Had a horrible migraine this morning just before I started for work, so my head feels like I'm wading through treacle at the moment. I think the stress is starting to get to me............either that or all the chocolate I've been eating
Teabreak over, I'd better get back to work. I hope everyone else is having a good day xNationwide cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2720.17 - Current balance £2714.10Halifax cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2779.86 - Current balance - £2751.43Savings - Balance 7/1/14 £750.00 - Current balance - £4000 -
Another £30 from eb*y sales tonight...:j
AND just had lovely home made chips for tea. Delicious but not very slimming
Day off tomorrow. BF has to go to see the specialist. I'm hoping it's just routine, but he has a condition that could lead to something else so they're keeping an eye on him. Don't mean to sound cryptic but I don't think he'd appreciate me telling all on here!
Glass of wine now I think, and a lurk on other peoples diaries
