Back again!
Very quiet day here again today, this is not good
My non-payer paid up last night so have another £10 to transfer from Eb*y. No bids on the new stuff yet, but its early days.
I'm not leaving the office today so hopefully today should be a NSD and any coffee temptations will be avoided :T
I'm trying very hard not to let things get me down here, but honestly, I can't wait to see the back of 2013 - its been the sh******t year I can ever remember having!
DS2 came for dinner last night and the poor thing tried his hardest to get me in the Christmas mood by playing my favourite song. The Fairytale of New York never fails to cheer me up but last night it made me burst into tears. They're all dead worried I might be depressed, but I'm not. Real depression is debilitating. I know because my friend suffers from it whereas I'm just fed up
Anyway, this morning I decided not to be all miserable and "why me?" which is what I usually do and to try and see these things as challenges. If I have to start again, I'll start again. I've done it before!
Right, I'd better go, I'm rambling again and teabreak is over. There doesn't seem to be a lot of moneysaving going on in this diary, but its there, in the background working away

Good morning

Just another quick update, although not much to report really.
Yesterday was a NSD and I also managed a "no coffee day".
I've just written a letter to cancel our gym membership. BF won't be very happy about this but we've no choice £67.50 monthly is too much now and therefore has to stop.
I'll know more about the work situation tomorrow, but at least this feels like a positive step.
No bids on Eb*y yet, but I'm still hopeful.
Plan of action if I keep my job for a couple of years:-
1. Pay off as much as I can of debts (if not all!).
2. Save as much as I can to give myself an emergency fund.
3. Sell everything that's not nailed down on Eb*y.
4. Learn to live on less - this means spending considerably less on food and household products.
5. Stay positive - this is a challenge and a very small one compared to the ones faced by some people on here. Sometimes I get my perspective all wrong.
6. Try for as many jobs as possible.

Just a quick update 'cos I'm feeling very pleased with myself.
I managed to get another £250 refunded to my credit card. It was a deposit I paid for something which is a luxury I can't afford now, so I cancelled it. I chanced my arm and explained very politely why I was cancelling and they refunded the whole amount.
I'm very impressed and if I'm ever lucky enough to be able to purchase the item without credit sometime in the future, I won't hesitate to give them my business.
I'm off home now, then its a quick visit to Mr T to see if I can make £25 feed us till payday.Nationwide cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2720.17 - Current balance £2714.10Halifax cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2779.86 - Current balance - £2751.43Savings - Balance 7/1/14 £750.00 - Current balance - £4000 -
Good morning!
Day off for me today but I have to go into work for a meeting. I should find out more about my future (or lack of it) at work - so please wish me luck.

Good morning!
Just a quick update this morning.
The meeting went ok yesterday. I have a job for the next 18 months anyway - after that I don't know but at least it gives me time to try and get these bills down and in the meantime if I see a job advertised that I like the look of , I will apply for it.
I'm off today, so today will be a housework day.
Things I need to do:-
1. Descale coffee machine.
2. Washing.
3. Ironing.
4. Vacuuming.
5 Giftwrap Christmas pressies.
6. Put a wheat free loaf in the breadmaker
7. List some bits on Eb*y
8. Check online banking.
Thats a long list so I'd better get started!

Back again

Yesterday was a very productive day, the only thing that didn't work was the wheat free bread. I think if I'd thrown it on the floor it would've bounced higher than a rugby ball. The cooking aroma was lovely but the end product very disappointing so its back to the drawing board.
I've a day off today so I've been putting my kitchen in order before the Christmas madness begins. I've also done a storecupboard audit before I do my online shop. I have no idea why, but I had three tins of mustard powder, all out of date and about 10 tins of plum tomatoes! I also seem to have a serious Tupperware habit that's in danger of taking over the kitchen
I've listed all my 99p items on Eb*y. All the other stuff can wait till we have another free listing weekend. A lot of my items are ending today, but no buyers yet.
I've done some calculations and I've worked out that if I can pay at least £220 per month off my debts, I should be debt free by the time my job ends in 2015 (if all goes according to plan with work that is!)
The thing is, if I pay this amount off, I probably won't have much left to put towards my savings. Its good to have a plan though.
Next job for today is to complete my online order with MrT (as cheaply as possible).
Hope everyone else is having a good Saturday xNationwide cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2720.17 - Current balance £2714.10Halifax cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2779.86 - Current balance - £2751.43Savings - Balance 7/1/14 £750.00 - Current balance - £4000 -
Here we go again - another chance to start afresh with a new year

I've given it a lot of thought and decided to keep on plodding with this diary instead of starting a new one, which is what I usually do.
We had a lovely, albeit sad Christmas, I still miss my dad like mad. Its only been 7 weeks so its early days yet.
We didn't go anywhere last night, instead, we had dinner with my mum and then we both drank a bottle of sparkly wine to see in the New Year.
BF had to work today, so I've spent the day cleaning and putting my finances in order. I'm ashamed to say I've accumulated a bit more debt over Christmas but this is it now - time to face reality.
I've faced my two "demons" today. I stepped onto the bathroom scales and phoned up my credit cards to find out my balances and its :eek: to both of them!
My balances are:-
1. Littlewoods £899.15
2. Halifax £2655.71
3. Nationwide £1826.68
Weight is...........I'm not telling, but I'd like to lose 3 1/2 stone this year!
I'd better go, BF will be home from work soon and I'm going to run him a bath. I've decided I'm going to be nicer to him this year. If I hadn't had him around during 2013 I don't know where I'd be without him (cheesy I know, but true!).
Back later for another update and a lurk on other people's diaries.

Good morning

Not a lot of moneysaving progress made so far, just a huge case of post Christmas/feeling sorry for yourself Christmas blues! If I thought I could get away with it, I would have stayed in bed today instead of going to work. Now that the hustle and bustle of Christmas is over, I've got more time to think about things and I'm really fed up with myself for getting myself into this mess in the first place!
Anyhow, I'm at work at the moment. It's just me and a colleague and no customers ( not good ).
I need a plan, a huge kick up the *** and someone to tell me to "just get on with it" cos the figures won't go down by themselves!
I don't know if it's a good idea but I'm thinking about using one of my cards to pay off the Littlew**ds account. This would bring me down to two debts and two lots of interest.
I've also got an item I bought, which I don't need that can be listed on Eb*y as an unwanted gift. Technically it's not a gift (unless treating yourself counts) but it's a lovely item and brand new and unused and could sell for about £200.
I could also sell my car, downsize to a cheaper car and pay off the finance. This would free up about £270 per month to throw at the cards/savings. Bearing in mind I could be made redundant at any time, this seems to me to be the sensible thing to do. I've resisted this so far because (a) I love my car and (b) I'm worried I could be opening myself up to more costs re maintenance by buying an older car
I also have about 30 unsold items to relist tonight before the free listing ends.
Tea break over for now, I'd best get back to work. I hope everyone else is enjoying their Sunday xNationwide cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2720.17 - Current balance £2714.10Halifax cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2779.86 - Current balance - £2751.43Savings - Balance 7/1/14 £750.00 - Current balance - £4000 -
Have just started my own diary as enjoyed reading yours. I walk by starbucks everyday on the way to work so also have coffee purchasing issues! I'm also on a wheat free diet. The own brand pasta from supermarkets is £1 ish a bag so not too bad. I make a lot of dishes with rice which ends up being pretty cheap
Pay off Debts by Christmas 2015 = DEBT FREE!

Good morning!
Hi Happybunny nice to see you. I'll have a look for that pasta. At the moment he's eating the "Free From" pasta which actually doesn't taste too bad, but is a bit pricey.
No posh coffee for me today. I'm making a point of staying at work and not venturing out at lunchtime which saves me from any coffee temptations
I had bad news at work yesterday. My job is definitely going sometime in the next two years, but at the moment I don't know if it will be in 24 months or 2 months! The uncertainty is making me feel sick, along with the fact that I know in my head that if only I'd stuck with clearing these debts months ago, I wouldn't be half as worried now so this has to be THE wake up call, my REAL LBM at long last.
I've just paid off my Littlew**ds account using my cards. I had trouble using my Nationwi*e card and had to call them twice to prove it was really me! I suppose this is a good thing, but annoying nonetheless.
The balances in my signature are now completely up to date. No more post Christmas surprises, everything is on there now, so lets see how much I can pay off these totals in the next two years. I've also added my savings account to my sig as this is how much money I have in the world. I need to have at least the equivalent of three months wages in here while my job lasts. Don't know if I'll be able to do this and pay off as much as I can but I'll give it a **** good go (determined face!).
Not much else to say really. I've relisted all my stuff that didn't sell before Christmas on Eb*y and already have one £1.99 bid. Decided not to list anymore during the free listing period because if these all sell, I'll have more than enough wrapping/posting to keep me busy. Will list more when the next free listing weekend comes up.
I'm itching to start paying off these totals, but January is a really long month when you've been paid early in December.
I'm going to go and have a look at the OS board now and get some ideas for menu planning. I've decided to do a huge online shop just after payday and hopefully get enough meat/basics to last the whole month and then just top up locally with bread/veg etc. I need to put a bit more thought into this now as OHs food needs to be wheat/dairy free.
Sorry for rambling, but this really is it now. Time to get serious.
Hope everyone has a good day xNationwide cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2720.17 - Current balance £2714.10Halifax cc - Balance 7/1/14 £2779.86 - Current balance - £2751.43Savings - Balance 7/1/14 £750.00 - Current balance - £4000
