7" tablet - why is no-one mentioning Kindle Fire HD?

JJ Egan - I know you can get Flash onto tablets, as I mentioned, I've done it. But it really doesn't work well for what the OP wants - DESKTOP flash. The site will be expecting a mouse to be used, just for starters, and performance is poor. I think it's a really bad investment to buy a tablet hoping to use these sites as easily as you're used to on a PC.
>> Agree they are not as easy on a Tablet but many web browsers can be set to desktop mode .
Certainly not a problem for me on Note 10.1 Nexus 7 or SGS3.
Only problem is that occasionally flash need a reinstall .
Main use of Note 10.1 is as a TV player .
IPlayer TVcatchup ITV Player 4od You Tube work very well .
As to live streaming from the bookmakers don't know as i have never tried it . But then again neither have i had any feedback saying it does not work .RP works as does Racing UK and any bookmakers web site .0 -
BBC Iplayer doesn't seem to appear in the Amazon store (using the Amazon App Store app on my Nexus).
4OD app does appear, but gets 1.5 stars rating (21 ratings).0 -
JJ Egan - agreed - I think video streaming is about the only thing Flash is good for on a tablet. And even then, quality can vary massively between sites.
Problem is, when you start talking about Flash on a tablet, people think they'll be able to do ALL the Flash they're used to, all those games etc.
The two main problems are - you're usually expected to have a mouse and keyboard - usually on a tablet you don't.
2. You're using totally unsupported and out of date software, which has been known to not be the most secure on most platforms.
People need to know the risks and drawbacks BEFORE planning to do it.0 -
The only tablet where flash seems to work reliably is on my playbook, my android TV stick doesn't work with things like william hill games/casino or channel 5 player but the playbook will load any flash site that a desktop pc can.
Bagged myself one of these the other week, looks alright for £18. Live chat seemed adamant it will be sent, although a lot of people had their cancelled.

After doing a lot of research I have eventually gone for the Tesco Hudl. Seems to have by far the best spec for the price, great reviews and does not tie you in to Amazon apps, but can get the full android range.
Oh, and you can therefore also get the kindle app, so I can keep all my kindle content too.
Only downside is the colours are a bit garish (I had to get a purple one as it was the only one in stock) and it is Tesco branded, which is not the coolest thing to have on your gadgets!:o
