Sick of the BT again.
to make it short
-2months ago was called and offered to increase my internet speed to Fiber optic for 50pence more then my current bill to which I agreed.
Was previously paying around ~28-30quid/month for my package. Had special discount given as I wanted to switch provider because of crap service.
-Month ago received my first bill for around 55quid :rotfl:, called them up several times asking whats up and to change it back, No Luck damn !!!!!!!s kept saying thats the new price and nothing you can do about it,if you want to cancel its 300quid , after 4th call some Indian guy picked up and said the bill will be Fine now and revert back to as it was previously, and difference will be refunded.
-Today checked my new bill and bloody hell its again near 50quid,and no refund from previous bill.
Any ideas what could I possibly legaly do about these !!!!!!!s? I didn't sign anything or didnt received any contract (after agreeing to increase my speed for ''just'' 50pence more).

Was he a Red Indian or just a normal one?
Why didn't you check the order status and changes to your account before the issuing of the bill? Then why did you not check again after the first new bill?
You are responsible for that and you also agreed a legally binding contract. From what you say there may be an error so since you didn't check you account [twice] you'll have to phone them back with the info (when you agreed, name of person etc).0 -

I believe you haven't been a customer of BT Before :rotfl:
There was no contract, just something to what I agreed over a phone call where they missold me with wrong information. Wasnt even told I would be tied in a 18months contract since My present contract was about to end in 2months, so they caught me again by offering again something which sounds too good to be true.
Indians are cool, but BT isn't who outsources their customer services overseas where they pay them $1/hour and they have no motivation to do better job.0 -

In the thread regarding avoiding paying the BT price rises their poor cs staff came to light (along with misleading info posted by the BT "authorised" MSE rep).
Complaining to the CEO's office gavin.e.patterson@bt.com has borne fruit for us.0 -
There most certainly is a contract, since a verbal contract that you agreed over the phone is as legally binding as one you signed.
The issue here is whether you were mis-sold. How did you think that there would not be a new minimum term though? There is never going to be 'something for nothing' with such offers. You would normally be offered a discount for the first 6 months or so and then full price for the remainder of the minimum term.No free lunch, and no free laptop

BT has been doing this rollover trick for years. It used to be in the small print that they will automatically renew you for another term, be it 12 month or 18, but it looks like they have to ask these days.0

Maybe - it is time to start recording calls to and from BT - Save them as MP3s in case of future problems ?
I know that I was conned in a similar vein - five or six years ago - when I changed ISP's to TalkTalk (I was promised one price and was charged double - but I had recorded the phone conversation and used the threat of having it to get what I originally was promised)0 -
Yes I have heard of the tricks that BT Retail get up to. My father has just been conned into moving to Fibre, which he does not want to.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Please get back to me ASAP!, Thanks.
Also thanks everyone else for suggestions/ideas, really appreciate them!0 -
I'd say pray that the rep can help because most of the time phoning any ISP with this sort of complaint gets nowhere - mysterious disappearances of notes on accounts and lack of any call recording are the order of the day0
