    Get the cash though.
What is your point exactly? The JC are meant to be helping people get into work and can't do so as they have no time due to not being able to keep to the appointments they set for people.

    Not very professional is it.

Are these actually targets to try and hit, or has this just been misunderstood as a percentage you would expect to sanction on average?

Assumptions about what figures mean are always manipulated for whichever side of the coin you are on. You only need to look at the political parties and how they argue with figures, for evidence of that.

I would find it pretty shocking if the reality is that these are targets to hit, I want to believe that there is at least some common sense left in the public sector and sanctions aren't being handed out undeservedly whilst hindering lives, just to hit a target, I'd much rather believe sanctions are handed out to those that deserve it.

Whats the problem. The JC are handing out the cash, the claimant is taking it. I would suggest that puts the JC in control.

Claimant can always refuse the cash if they don't like the system.

Some people may not sign on for cash. They may want to sign on to get their NI contributions credited:p

It's called being on time. Then you don't get the length of time in your appointment as they are 'running late' so you can not discuss anything.

Because, truthfully, your time is less valuable, currently.

It isn't realistic in the job centre environment to be on time 100%, same with doctors. Especially when you are the first to moan they don't give you enough 'support'

You don't seem to understand that there are many of us who want you to be sanctioned, and who think that it's morally right.

How can they give support when my !!!! is barley in the chair before they say 'Oh I have someone waiting' - Maybe I get pushed out as they think I don't need any help.

MY doctors open at 9.30am and you can get an apt for 9.30 and still not go in till 10am

Completely agree. Why on earth would people actually WANT other people to become actually destitute with no money for food, accommodation etc. How in Gods name does that help people get a job? Sounds more like a recipe for suicide to me (shakes head with disbelieve).

Targets to hit and there was a report of the best sanctioner's getting an Easter egg
There's reviews where if your sanctioning is below what others do they'll quiz you and get you to sanction more people for anything. People have been sanctioned for having job interviews

A rather stupid point to make. Never heard of leading by example? If a jobseeker can be threatened with a sanction for being late, do you not think that the Jobcentre should in turn be more efficient in seeing to a jobseekers needs?

What if they have prior engagement's that are now screwed up after having to wait half an hour for an appointment that lasts less than 10 minutes?

Where does that come from? that's really uncalled for, you know nothing of the posters you're infurring

Inferring, perhaps? And you can't infer a person. Impugning, maybe?

And yes, I do know about the poster to whom I was referring, as he posts quite a bit about himself. The picture he paints is of someone who ought to be sanctioned.

I do hope that it's just an act, as the persona that he projects on here is of someone who will probably never hold down a decent job. I can only judge the persona, not the person, of course.
