But don't you WANT something to change? Or are you happy to merely have your concerns acknowledged. Because that's all a reply without action is!

I was under the impression you didn't want others to suffer as you have done.

    Maybe I'm wrong?

    Not necessarily spelling mistakes, but:

"the EFRA committee made" - did you mean DEFRA?
If not, you need to explain EFRA.

"only 1 or 2 cases per month go to DC action" - might be wise to spell out DC in full, whatever it is.

EFRA is part of DEFRA . It is not spelling mistake it has been taken from the House of Commons debate. I do not know why but I have used the same as they have. DC (Disciplinary committee )

Of course I want things to change why else bother to write to DEFRA? Other people started it long ago some were quite old and I think things are slipping back again from what they have manged to achive all these years ago.

Thank you for the spelling check. It was not as bad as I was made to believe. I have written to the Prime Minister before on the subject the letter was passed on to DEFRA who have replied. They have pointed me to the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and said this includes the vets conduct. The thing is they have an obligation to respond to even "simple folks" who are the part of this country if they have an issue. They may not address my issue but it will not be dismissed, spelling mistakes, bad grammar does not matter they will reply.

But the sentence construction makes it near impenetrable!

They will just send you out a polite template letter, thanking you for raising your concerns and that they will take your views into account when formulating policy .... blah .... blah ..... blah ......

To be brutally honest, it won't make a blind bit of difference no matter how cogent, concise or valid your views are. They are not going to have a Damascene conversion re the RCVS purely on the basis of your missive. Presumably there was a group that organised the petition to be sent to Buckingham Palace, so why not look at joining them to push through the changes you believe should be made?

So write a clear, lucid letter that they will not only acknowledge but, possibly, act upon. Or, better still, follow the advice in the post previous to this one.

(For some reason the song 'There's a hole in my bucket' is playing in my head. *sigh*)

Valli's right. DEFRA have no idea what's happened, so your letter doesn't make sense.

Well I'm pleased to see that those are not mistakes, but are you sure that whoever reads that letter knows what they mean... particularly DC?
Personally, I would spell out that sort of thing to avoid any confusion... but perhaps that's just me.

With my letter to DEFRA I have send a copy of my letter to RCVS and forensic vet report. I think my letter to DEFRA is quite clear about difficulties the pet owners face when it comes to vets negligence. They are aware of the petition handed in 2003 and their action following that. Instead of trying to find grammar and spelling mistakes in my letter why not read it again and try to understand it. Trust me DEFRA will but I am not under ilussion that that letter will get me anywhere, not yet it is just a start. I am still waiting for the reply from RCVS how they going to deal with my letter ( posted here before but it was taken of) I have no idea but I am sure looking forward to that reply.
  • I can't read it again because it's one big block.
Can you please post again with paragraphs and spaces between them?

    Another nasty attack. Why !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not a nasty attack, is a genuine question. OP comes here writing incoherently, if she has been drinking she's only going to get herself more distressed.
