It all has gone today to my insurers legal team. Should hear early next week what they think.

Yes of course you will...you send it on a Friday and they will get back to you on Monday/Tuesday with their 'legal' thoughts...really!

Quote from their claim form" We will process your claim promptly including sending an acknowledgment within 1 working day". I have also talked to them on the phone.

An acknowledgement is simply that - 'your claim form has been received and is currently being processed'.

Given your 'case' is complex it will not be automatically processed and paid out or acted upon but will be carefully considered.

Given you are quite 'emotional' about the whole issue there will be a flag on your case anyway; it will be being handled with kid gloves.

They will acknowledge they have received your claim within 1 working day, not deal with it within 1 working day. Goodness.

I am well aware of that but when I spoke to them on the phone they said their lawyer will get back to me within a week.

I am not sure you have read or understood why I have send all my evidence/claim to my insurer's legal team. I am not waiting for any pay out from my insurers. This is just to establish should I reject the veterinary surgery insurers offer (that was less then 50% of my claim) and go to court if they would be willing to take it on and pay my legal fees if I lost it.

I don't think it will take the insurers and solicitors long to reach a decision. But if the legal team do not come up with the decision she wants what will happen next?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

You are waiting for a 'pay out', a phrase I used for brevity tbh, and had you read my post anyway I added 'acted upon'. While I know your insurers are not going to pay you they are going to decide whether they will pay the legal costs.

So they are going to carefully weigh the evidence and consider whether, in their opinion, you are likely to win or lose. Because if they think you will lose chances are they will be looking for a way out.

I have a feeling that they'll recommend you accept the £2K.

As has been said, what will you do if the insurers decide they won't pay your legal fees?
