Nightbreaker Plus bulbs

I did like the improvement that NBP gave me, but after less than 15k miles both dip beams blew and left me with nothing but main beam halfway through a 60 mile journey which wasn't nice!
I didn't even have them on for the entire 15k (1 year) either as my car has DRLs.
Not terribly happy so have swapped to philips extreme brilliance instead.
a bulb kit is a must for any emergency car kit. Just buy a kit for £5 and pop it in the breakdown/emergency compartment.
I have heard of poor reliability on previous nieghtbreak bulbs, they have come up with more since then, nightbreaker plus, nightbreaker gold plus, nightbreaker platinum.
I think 15K miles is fairly heavy use - though bulbs should run on time than distance and 1 year is quite poor. I have cheap ebay bulbs and they've lasted more than a year.0 -
Although I have found that the Nightbreakers do perform well, the H4 version has an annoying feature -- while the dipped beam does not appear to be blue-tinted to any great degree, the full beam element is very blue -- which I dislike because the blue-tinted bulbs do not perform in wet weather IME.0
