key fiancial services keep ringing re PPI

Options
A company called Key finacial services keep phoning my landline and telling me and my wife we have Ppi misold to us on a loan she took out in 2005. Now i didnt know that she had this loan untill they told me. Shes said she has checked regarding Ppi and none is owed(she works for the local givernment and has it through her work contract). So we tell them we arent interested but they persist. They also tell me its ok for me to discuss the details as im her partner(doesnt sound right) and should they have the details of the loan i.e. time, amount and reason for loan? Can i stop them? Are they right? Is there Ppi? Should they have this info?

Yes, refuse to discuss anything with them and simply put the 'phone down.
They have no access to your financial details and you have obviously inadvertently given them information in discussion with them in the past.
Don't be afraid to put the 'phone down...

I just keep asking them if they want to buy the rusty old bicycle in my shed.

My wife didnt tell me about it, i suspect she didnt tell them. They are quite readily forthcoming with info which 1. Im surprised they know and 2. Im surprised they tell me. Seems like a data protection issue.
And they are chuffing persitant. At least everyday for the last three days. A bit much.
And im not convinced the asian man's name is james either...

If you and your wife have had several discussions with them then you will have given them information unwittingly. It is well known that these companies use educated guesswork and pluck likely figures out of the air. Every so often, as in your case, such guesses meet pay dirt.
    Ignore them.

As I said they use educated guesswork, they have no access to your financial details. You are giving them credit for knowledge they cannot (legally) have access to. They've been known to tell people without any loans whatsoever that they have a "claim" from 2005!

You dont take no for an asnwer do you? They havent got it from us. Because they have the dates which we didnt and had to check. They cannot have guessed.

Okay, they have clearly employed an ex-member of staff from the Bank where your wife had the loan. That member of staff has clearly stolen the entire bank database and provided it for the use of call centre staff called "James" from India.

    Quick, call the police!:D

I dont think he is really called james, he has a very strong accent and works in a call center. They are clearly untrustworthy.

I don't think he has access to anyone's private bank details either!:)

I think you already established that back in post #1 of the thread!;)
