Jacket - this time of the year again...

  • Ha ha! I know exactly what you mean. I treated myself a few Christmases ago to a purple bergaus jacket as I too was fed up of black and have always walked, one school run is a forty minute round trip and I needed something waterproof. I got it for about £50 from amazon and it just comes to mid bum section and is very light and I thought it wouldn't keep me warm, however, you can still fit a big jumper underneath and it is wind proof and does the job. It is however, not very flattering and isn't fitted at all. I'm usually wearing this, with wild hair and no makeup on when I meet people I would really much prefer to be looking snazzy and not so much farmers wife.

    LOL...

Spent like 2 hours in TK Max today and nothing was quite right.

I REALLY want it to be long - but not too long.

I REALLY do not want it to be black.

I REALLY want to be able to "wipe" mud (from the dogs we meet and greet) off without having to wash it after every walk.

MUST be warm but NOT "padded" like a duvet and not heavy.

MUST be water and wind proof....
    etc etc

    :D

    Search continues ;)

Maybe a bit out of your price range, but I can vouch for the quality, totally waterproof.

I would have a look at equestrian wear, my last 2 dog walking coats have been sourced that way :)

This is my current one: http://www.shiresequestrian.co.uk/shop/product.php?productid=16694&cat=640&page=1

I am vertically challenged so it is almost to my knees ;) No wind or run get through it and when it is very cold I wear an extra fleece under it. It has loads of pockets so treats, balls, poo bags, phone & keys are safely stowed away leaving my hands free for the pooches :)

    How about something like this?

Plenty of other choices there as well, including a longer version.

Thanks a lot for all the links.. looking, searching.... :)

The ones I like (would love olive/khaki) look way too thin/not warm enough without some heavy jumper/fleece under them....

The ones that lookj warm enough - not long enough...

BTW - what are those "flaps" on the arms of some of the jackets????

Love this one but... they never mention how warm is it, no photo of the inside etc - looks quite thin....

Lenght, colour, shape almost exactly what I want.

Pity no info about how warm is it and no photos of the inside.

And 199 a bit pricey for something that will be purely dog walking coat...

    Hmmm
