Are Talk Talk still rubbish?

Options
Lots of talk in my house about migrating away from Sky and looking around Talk Talk seem to do the cheapest BB/TV/Phone deal.

Theres a lot of negative comments on here but some are quite dated so wondering if there all round service has improved much lately?

Thanks as usual

More than fine while it works.
However we lost BB and phone and it took 11 days for service to resume directly as a result of the incompetence of TT. They booked the wrong engineer, and closed the fault, which we only found out after days and days of repeating ourselves in an attempt to get someone to understand we wanted to complain over the wait.
Once the correct engineer was booked OR attended and fixed within 24 hours.
This was within the last few months we now have no confidence in their ability to fix problems in future with competence and in a timely manner. Shopping round for a new ISP.
  • I would say like others they are brilliant if you don't need to contact them, very cheap and have decent speeds.

If you do have a problem would always suggest you use the forum as this seems the best way to get answers and get any decent type of service. I would say go for it as you will save a good deal of money.

  • As previously stated Talk Talk are fine provided everything is working OK. They are a nightmare to deal with if things start to go wrong and I thought about leaving them but then looking elsewhere what provider does have a great reputation? The answer is simply none of them. Talk Talk then offered me a deal I couldn't refuse for the next 12 months. So I would say give them a try and fingers crossed!

I`ve been with them for five years on Essentials
    no problem.

As been said earlier OK until there`s a problem, although you could say that about all of them.
    BT,Virgin,Sky all have their knockers.

TT CS has improved a lot in the last 2 years. However, since they were then at the bottom of the heap along with BT and Horange, they still have a long way to go.

In the latest Customer Satisfaction stats, TalkTalk, which had been top of the worst customer service provider for two years running, have managed to reduce their complaints log by 50%. Thats a huge shift in numbers, so they are getting there.

Oh, and if you join them, you'll get a YouView box included too.

Im just about to leave talk talk, fine while it works as it did for a few years but Ive had intermittent connection on internet and no wifi in my house for a year now and according to them its my fault and they want to charge me 50 quid to send an engineer out. I do know thats standard but its taken a year of frustrating phone calls to get to this point, I also had issues connecting to a laptop as my router didnt have a password on it, took 6 months for someone at talk talk to talk me through something really simple online to get said password

I was with virgin media for a while and Bt, had no problems with BT at all, just expensive, virgin also had their issues.

Am moving to plusnet and am aware it might be the same as talk talk, but right now for me, it cant get much worse so am leaving
  • pauline b. My experience with Talk Talk has not been as severe but bad enough. Yes, they do automatically assume that it's the customer at fault and to charge £50 for an engineer to call when you are paying already for a service that you are not getting doesn't encourage continued custom with them. As I said in my earlier post I'm with them for another year but is their any better out there, particularly from a customer service point of view?
