Daily Mags - what is happening?

There is never going to be an all singing all dancing solution to this that makes everyone happy, guys you have to face the fact that the board will never be the way you want it to be, we all comp differently. It's up to each of us as individuals to find ways to work around the stuff that becomes an obstacle to our comping.
Thanks to Cornish and all the other guys that run regular comp threads.
It's a thankless task at times, I would guess.0 -

Also, people are more likely to enter the bigger prizes as a one off on the main thread then go through each mag every day.
Also any competition post (inc itv ones etc) gets more thanks when it is bumped up the board and that one was bumped loads of times.0 -
I appreciate the effort that people put in but I agree with Toni. I'm glad she posted the few on the main board the other week as it meant I actually had a chance to enter them. If the daily comps had been posted on main board I would probably have entered each comp once but having them in one place meant that most of the time I totally forgot about them. I don't have time to do them daily and much preferred when they were on main board.
One of my main issues with it was when new websites were added to the list I had no idea (I only realised yesterday about some of the new ones so no idea how long they had been on there!) as they weren't ever listed on main board.
Anyway everyone has their own preference.2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89
2013: £134.960 -

I haven't read everything but as I interpret it...
The main "For" was that it suited many people and freed up the daily thread that was becoming clogged with mags.
The main "Against" was that comps were only in the sticky and not on the main board- something that many feel is vital if ALL compers are to benefit.
I interpreted Glad's suggestion that we have 3 daily stickies...
1) Daillies
2) Rafflecopters
3) Mags
(If I'm wrong, please don't flame me, I'm truly trying to help)
Now surely there's a compromise?
If, like other dailies, (including the rafflecopters that are now dominating dailies thread,) all comps are posted on THE MAIN BOARD then linked to the appropriate sticky, won't that suit [STRIKE]both[/STRIKE] all camps? It's done with other dailies, so why not all?

Mine's the same as yours, if they were on the main board I would bookmark any that I really wanted to win and enter them more than once and just do the others as a 'one off' as I got to them.
I saw this morning that someone posted a comp and was told that it was already in the Advent thread. Are they also not being posted on the main board as well?Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I don't actually think there is a great deal of diagreement here at the root of the issue. Many of us like having the mag dailies in lists, and there is no reason why that should not continue. In think that the objection is that they are only in the lists on the sticky.
If we can continue to have the lists plus a thread for each comp on the main board for those that prefer to comp that way and ensuring that everyone sees them from the main board, that should work.
The key question is then what is the correct posting procedure. Would posting each on the main board and then adding a link to the end of the mag thread to that main post work, with whoever coordinates the mag thread than updating the lists with direct links and answers as at present?
I know we can't please everybody all the time but there does seem to be a reasonably simple solution that meets most people's needs here. Let's try and focus on finding a solution rather than berating people and causing hurt and upset (which is aimed at nobody in particular).0 -
The relief that someone has come along and understands what I have been trying to say is immense, it felt pretty full on trying to explain this.

Wouldn't a viable solution be to keep the mag thread the way it is, and then appoint someone else to 'flag' the bigger prizes as additional posts on the main board? Someone other than CP so she doesn't have additional work?
A subjective process I know in terms of deciding what is sizeable enough, but it would negate cluttering up the main board with every mag comp (and every variant across the different mags).More GRRR than the average Bear!!0 -
I know it is not the same because they are posted on the main thread, but some of the Take a Break, etc issues have large prizes in them and are linked under one post. I always miss those and don't expect each prize to be listed under a separate thread.0

I did try this last night by adding the smeg fridge comp, as the fridge is worth over £1100 and this is what started this off again.#JusticeForGrenfell0
