    Morning everyone.

AAU, do you think the sim deal has affected your credit rating ?

Sometimes, not having credit can work against you. There is no history for them to check for your trustworthyness of repaying. I had the same problem a good few yrs back. I was always brought up that if you couldnt afford it, you dont buy it. So i never had credit cards or cheque books. I then got a credit card, brought a can of coke every month and paid it off in full so I had a credit rating.

I appreciate that but you misunderstood. I have credit and have a good history with it. I thi k my problem may have been due to previous address verification (it was a common online billing problem and i'm so glad to be in a house now)

  • Just had a phone call saying my comp is sending hundreds of 'error' messages to Microsoft and unless I go through the steps over the phone to correct it, they will cancel my Microsoft! Is this a scam that I think it is? Thanks in advance.

T-mobile say they are not offering me a contract due to the reaults of their credit check. I have no late fees, missed payments, overdrafts and the only credit i have applied for recently was a mortgage more than a year ago

I think the problem is due to my previous address not being on their system in the same number format (it was a flat so had flat, floor and building numbers). I keyed it in instead but doesn't seem to have worked

    I hope others fare better

they have prob heard about you and your glitching and know what a tightwad you are!, so declined!:rotfl:

Without this getting heated, it is something I tried to warn about at the time, and got pole axed for my trouble :D

Having said that, my contract is due for renewal in 10 days, so am wondering if the criteria for credit accounts has been tightened up, and the sim deal may have nothing to do with it.

Im not too sure on this but my understanding of it is...

Everytime i apply for something that needs credit, like my next account, i get an alert from experian to say that a credit check has been done, part of the t&c's for Next account, where you just tick the box without actually reading it all!

There is an industry limit on credit checks, used to be three. If you had three checks in certain time period, you are pretty much guarenteed to be refused the next time. This is why i was told when we were buying our first house, not to apply for anything as the credit checks affected credit scores that the mortgage peeps used.

Might be a load of tosh but makes sense to me.

When i used to do credit agreements at work, you could never guess who would be accepted and who wouldnt. Although if you said yes to PPI it was almost guarenteed!!! Long time ago.:rotfl:
