RE, computer virus scam phone calls
my eldest DS is terrible with these, he keeps them on for ages till he gets bored. He starts off waffling about yes of course ive got windows we need them for light and fresh air to get in. then he rambles on asking them about their day and if anyones ever rang them to report their puter having viruses etc. on the last one after getting bored he said he had to go as his little brother had ignited and he needed to put the fire out.
for some reason we dont get half as many as we used to.SPC~12 ot 124

Re: the GC's, can i use a £6 off £40 spend from a mailing does anyone know? I need to bump up a spend...Cereal_Shopper wrote: »Didn't know Mad but I can see by all your lovely posts what a well-loved member of this forum he was and that he will be truly missed.
I think the 20% off selected gift cards in T's has already been posted but some doubt over whether it was working or had already ended. Tried it out this morning and I got 20% off £25 Arcadia card (Topshop, Miss Selfridge etc). Went back and got 5 more £25 for £100 plus 300 clubcard points. Amount to pay does not reduce on till until SA goes to the payment screen.
Not sure if it works on any others, may try a Next one after work. They evidently had 100 golden envelopes at the new Aldi this morning.
I arrived about 7-40 and went straight into the new underground carpark. There was only one other car in there, so I thought it was going to be a very quiet opening. (I didn't know that the carpark had only just opened) When I got upstairs there were hundreds of people queueing around the store and down the road!
People had been at the store since before 6, armed with folding chairs, flasks and sandwiches!
Needless to say I wasn't any where near the first 100!:(
The funniest thing was, whilst waiting to get in, I watched some of the people who had got golden envelopes, go straight in, collect their prize and leave the store without doing any shopping!!
I had to get a Next GC for my sis in law's bday back in June - just so happened to go the day it opened. People had been queueing but i just breezed up (it's next door to A:p) after they'd let them all in, got a golden envelope and it was a voucher for a nice smelly room room diffuser thing. Bonus.

Lines I use :-
Hold on I'll switch the laptop on.
Hold on theres someone at the door
Just a minute the kettles boiled
I've got to go for a dump
The baby is crying
I've spilled my drink
All are good for a couple of minutes, when I get bored I just say, hold on a second, then I put the phone down and go for a walk.
I love it. I'm going to do all these next time i get a call.mrs-moneypenny wrote: »my eldest DS is terribel with these, he keeps them on for ages till he gets bored. Mad, we all miss you on this thread,
Anyone can see, from what's been said.
You were funny, caring, and such a gent,
And made us feel, what the ELITE meant.
Never forgotten, you'll make us strong,
And look down upon our happy throng,
We will remember you with a tear,
To openly cry without any fear.
We are proud to have known you Mad,
Though this day has left us sad,
You are flying high above us all,
Amongst the angels for ever more.
That is so lovely, would like to say how sorry I am to all Mad's friends on here, I can see how hard it has hit you. Although I didn't know him I can see from all your posts that he was a good 'un:A0 -

T-mobile say they are not offering me a contract due to the reaults of their credit check. I have no late fees, missed payments, overdrafts and the only credit i have applied for recently was a mortgage more than a year ago
I think the problem is due to my previous address not being on their system in the same number format (it was a flat so had flat, floor and building numbers). I keyed it in instead but doesn't seem to have worked
I hope others fare better
Morning everyone.

Sometimes, not having credit can work against you. There is no history for them to check for your trustworthyness of repaying. I had the same problem a good few yrs back. I was always brought up that if you couldnt afford it, you dont buy it. So i never had credit cards or cheque books. I then got a credit card, brought a can of coke every month and paid it off in full so I had a credit rating. Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0
