How is everyone doing with their Christmas shopping, I haven't started any yet, which is soooo unusual for me, usually finished by now. I just got no idea on what to get anyone including my 2 children. They are 14 and 10 and they have absolutely no idea on what they want for a change, the youngest, still has birthday and Christmas money from last year that he has saved, because he doesn't really want or need anything. He is not an indoors child, he likes playing outside with his scooter and footballs, and he has hundreds of balls.

Really need some inspiration to get started and buying family presents, but no ideas at all coming to me.

Would they maybe like a day out / weekend away, tickets to a football match or event? An experience type present rather than a "thing"?

DH has just rung, they've got his scan results back and have now decided that it is an abscess in his jaw/ throat and they are going to operate on him tonight. He'll probably have to stay in hospital for another week. I asked him again if he wanted me to go out but he didn't see any point in me doing so. He sounded a bit fed up, especially at the timescale, but I said to him that if they are right then he'll have made a major step towards getting better by tonight. Fingers crossed.

Oh, and he told me the holiday we have booked away for later this month will probably fall by the wayside. Think he was not wanting to tell me, but I'd already been working on that basis. At least the dogs will be happy. :)
    Hope is not a strategy.

Sarahdoll, have you considered an archery set? Sounds dangerous, but Decathlon do one for £50 which includes a bow, arrows with big rubber suckers and a target. You obviously need a little space, but it is something a bit different.

I don't usually sell on eBay as I don't know much about it but my son put something on for me the other day and ATM I m feeling rather disappointed . This morning it was showing as £72 and so many bids now it s gone down to £62 and so many bids. How can that happen ? Can anyone tell me please.

Someone withdrawn a bid? Is there a reserve? If so, naughty peeps sometimes bid to see if they are near the reserve or to see how much they need to bid to outbid a rival. Or to mess up the minds of other bidders to see if they withdraw. Or even if they have a similar item they bid on yours using a different ID then report your item as shill bidding (bidding your own up) in the hope your item will be cancelled by Ebay.

All sorts of dodgy explanations. Or someone could have changed their mind.

Hey Sarah- how about activities or days out you could have as a family rather than presents? Go-karting or one of those 'go-ape' activity days? That way you have stuff to look forward to after Christmas
Sarah - maybe a theme park and stay over at the hotel (alton towers, chessington etc). could double up CC vouchers perhaps?
I picked up my little glowing ball lights from Homebase yesterday, and on the receipt it says

'Save £5 off your next £50 shop, go to https://www.paintusapicture.com'

Fill in a customer satisfaction survey and it gives you a code for a fiver off

Might be useful to someone :)
I got mine last night - the kids love them. DS took his to bed then promptly turned it off "otherwise the batteries will go". He's 4...:rotfl:

oh lutzi - what a tough time for him, especially being on his own. Do you think he is saying no to you visiting cos he doesn't want to scupper plans/work/create a fuss etc? Hope it goes well and he recovers very quickly. Men are terrible patients (sweeping generalisation of you boys but true! :p)
