You may wish to avoid RM's Redirection - it will be returned to the sender if uncollected anyway. The RM service advises a shopping list of outfits your new address - this includes TVLRO, DHS, CRA's and Marketing companies - it's all listed in the T&C's in tiny print.0

This is an honest mistake on my part, but I feel that I should be able to at least get my money back
I bought a £1000 TV last week - I made an honest mistake and dropped it - I feel that I should get my money back from John Lewis ..............
Is NO ONE responsible for their own actions any more ????????????????0 -
False analogy there yangtang. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Its delivered by Parcelforce
so RMs redelivery system is irrelevant0 -
Maybe call the post office and see if they will help you by posting it up to you?
How would they do that? Simply send a packet in their care to some random on the phone?Who mentioned anything about a redirection service? Just call them and see if you can pay the postage over the phone.
Why do you keep writing things that no one says? (supermarket slip thread comes to mind...as well as this one)
except they didnt mention redirection, they mentioned redelivery to another addressEarthstorm's statement is nonsense anyway, RM redirection can be to anywhere:
Need your mail delivered quickly to your new home? Our Redirection service allows you to redirect to any UK or overseas address for 3, 6, or 12 months from £21.00 for each last name.

There is nonsense here indeed
So lets be clear. It was delivered by Parcelforce0 -
I said REDELIVER, which they can redeliver to another address within the same postcode area. Thats unless RM is yet another company that needs to check MSE before they run their business.
But wait they don't need to consult any MSE users as its clearly stated on their website
https://www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/redelivery/book
http://www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/redeliverySometimes we can’t deliver an item to you because nobody was there to sign for it or, it was too big for your letterbox. We know you can’t always get to your local delivery office to collect it so why not arrange a Redelivery to:- your own address
- your local Post Office® branch
- another address in your postcode area.

Package is being sent using Parcelforce, so redirection doesn't apply.
Vendor could charge for failed deliveries that are returned back to them and need to be sent out.
Vendor could charge a restocking fee for cancelled orders.
Vendor doesn't accept returns for medicines.
OP has accepted that they need to purchase again if they still require the item.
Shall we move on now?0 -

Phone the post office, explain the situation, provide a signature for the delivery with a covering letter, and proof of ID, post it to the office with a SAE and the post office forward the delivery.
Outside the norm I agree, but the postmaster can verify the redirect is in place and where that's to to cross check - can't get much more secure a signature release than that.
No harm in asking.except they didn't mention redirection, they mentioned re delivery to another address
My mistake, ill hold my hands up and apologise, I didn't honestly think someone could be as wrong as to recommend a re-delivery within the same postal area when the OP clearly stated the delivery was addressed to London and he's in Northants.0 -

.
Would you risk it in the POs position?
The OP would(and I know I have mentioned it before) need to contact Parcelforce
they are the company paid to deliver the item and it is them who has a contract with th sender0 -

I would risk it, much more secure than a signature release stuck to a door.
Actually, officially, the OP needs to speak to Chemist Direct if you want to be 100% official as its them who contracted ParcelForce, not the OP.0
