getting upset :-(

It is not silly. It is easy to be upset when you try but never succeed. I did every comp I could and try very hard on advents but little reward so I took a break. It mattered too much that I rarely won despite the time I put in. However that break reminded me to look again at what first drew me into comping and that's the people on this forum. I am amazed at how they take their time to find and post these wonderful opportunities to make life that much nicer for a stranger and don't just keep it to themselves! In general you see such kindness on here and it does cheer me up when I see the eagerness to help. I also think seeing the same people win big can make you believe that there's something your not doing but there is nothing you can do but enter! I never saw me win more if I entered more or when I take a break and then come back I don't suddenly see loads of wins. I think if you can remember its chance, don't try to enter everything (especially with advents as it can make you a bit insane as there are so many advents) and generally remember what life was like before you ever heard of comps then you will soon find your mojo :0 Really hope that does not sound preachy and that the win you want comes in very soon.0

I don't win at the rate others do but I've found keeping a spreadsheet of my wins as really helped when I've felt like I haven't won for a while the I would take a look at and remind myself of how well I have done really.
I did take a break earlier in the year when things got a bit too much but then got back too it with a vengance0 -
I've entered thousands over the last couple of months and not won a dicky bird! It is disheartening I know when you see IWIW posts from people who have been comping for weeks or even days, but that's the nature of the beast I'm afraid. When I started I didn't actually expect to win anything but because I can't resist reading who has won what I keep thinking it MUST be time for a win for me! I'd be better off if I didn't read them, but at least you know someone out there is actually winning.0

I get a bit disheartened sometimes too but I keep a list of my previous wins and seeing everything I've won in the past year gives me the motivation to carry out. I always find that if I'm not enjoying entering, I should take a break for a while.2013 wins: £150 £250 Next Shopping Spree Barbra Streisand Tickets 20 Books A 'share' cookbook 500 Tesco Clubcard Points £10 Itunes Voucher
Thank you so much to everyone who posts competitions

Dark Angel, I think it's time for a.......GROUP HUG!!:grouphug:You're not wasting your time, look I've been watching I'm A Celebrity every night...now that really is a waste of time and I'm never going to win anything from doing so!Don't give up, keep popping into the forums jumping in to add to the silly/fun threads as that will hopefully lift your spirits. And I know lots would disagree but DO go and have a look at the IWIWIW thread, find those threads where the winners are bursting with happiness because they have won the thing they REALLY wanted to win and try to scoop up that feeling because that is how YOU are going to feel when you win ALL those things you really wanted to win.LOADS of luck to you Dark Angel xxxPS. I have waited 30+ years for Clint Eastwood to ride in on a horse and rescue me from all this drudgery and I haven't given up - so neither should you!
Whilst he has still got a pulse & I've still got joints flexible enough to get on a horse I WON'T give up! :rotfl:

That is me
I went a few weeks with out a win then had a big win, I have been comping hard style for a few months now and won a few good prizes, I only enter stuff i want or could make use off. Keep at it and good luck. 0 -
I know what you mean, you look at the list some people put at the bottom of their posts and think what am I doing wrong? I sometimes think you can pressurise yourself about winning things especially this time of year when wins are a big help towards pressie buying. I always try to do alot of the comps that are quite fun to do, then it doesn't feel like a chore, the things I would be happy doing even if there was no prize at the end. I found the Lenovo competition where you had to throw your old computer at the top of the rubbish heap towards the end of its run and I was quite sad when it finished. I messaged them and asked them if they could keep it on just as a bit of fun without the prize because I like it so much. If you picked a few to do like this it might take the pressure off!. Try the dorset cereals games, the Jennings Ford direct, wild taxi racing game or the Lidl toss the pancake all on facebook. I spend alot of time on that one even though its really just a draw and its not your score that helps you win. I have just returned to comping after a long absence (was too busy) I started in September and all I have won so far was a frisbee and chicken toy in the wheres Freda comp but it might as well have been a car I was so chuffed. Hope you feel better about things soon and its not silly to get upset we all do over what seem to be little things to others from time to time.0

That's a cool idea. I really enjoy the games on Dorset Cereals and I loved the (can't remember which) hotel one with the running man.
Good Luck everyone - especially those in a dry spell xxx"The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
