NAR, tbh I've more or less come to terms with not knowing, I know it's not life threatening just painful and frustrating. Even if they do say it's fibromyalgia there doesn't seem to be a lot they can do about it. It would be good though, when I'm not feeling good to be able to give other people a reason for it.

Astonished to find this. How awful that you are struggling with fibro with no apparent support at all! There is a lot of knowledge out there now for sufferers but GPs seem to be pretty overwhelmed and just refer to Rheumatologists ( loooonnggggg wait list on NHS) who frankly offer nothing but pain control and kind words. There are treatments which work but you have to pretty much pursue it yourself.
5 years back I was in a wheelchair paralysed in one arm and totally dreaded every night going to bed knowing I'd have to struggle in agony to even move each morning. All down to this condition.
I still have to watch it but all that hell is now thankfully a long way away.
I don't think most people have a clue how debilitating fibromyalgia really is.......

    Evening all,

Sorry that so many seem to be suffering at present, hugs to all. Apart from not being able to kick myself I seem to be fine the last couple of days, OH is doing most of the cooking but I need to get the garden sorted for the winter.

We seem to have escaped the worst of the cold weather, a skim of snow yesterday morning which disappeared veryquickly.

    Take care all

I've got a question for the doggy people. She has a little jack Russell cross they got about a year ago. A lovely little dog that they got when their old jack Russell sadly passed aged 17. Well Alfie had settled in wonderfully but she has three boys 13,17 and 20. The dog has taken a dislike to the 20 yr old and growls and snarls whenever he enters the room or comes in from work. They are all dog lovers and little Alfie is thoroughly spoilt. No one can understand why he has taken such a dislike to the eldest, who is a lovely quiet gentle lad, although very tall, he gets along famously with everyone else and this has only started in the last few months, any suggestions x

Sorry to repeat myself but I asked this on the end of yesterday's thread, any ideas, I promised I would ask.

Apologies I meant to get back to you on this but the storms did my roof in so it's been an ongoing nightmare.
There really is a lot you can do to handle Fybromyalgia although it does seem daunting to try and change your diet leave out all the inflammatory foods. Worth it though as it really makes a difference. Link to an overview to get you started: http://uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/live-fibromyalgia-m-e-144500828.html

There's more complex stuff about potato starch which is in all sorts of stuff you wouldn't expect but it's not that hard to avoid once you know. Hope this helps and feel free to ask me anything if I can help. :-)
