2 days down, 3to go...Had a fab parents eve for dc online tonight. Given how little work they have been able to put in outside of the classroom, they're doing really well. It was a tad bizarre, only having 4 mins per booking, but it really focusses the mind. Even more bizarre was that my mic stopped working for 2 appointments, but they just talked and I wrote a couple of words on a notepad to hold up for them! We're all much more used to communicating online and keeping going when it goes wrong nowadays.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

I like the online parents' evenings as a parent (I've never done one as a teacher and probably won't now).
I like that it cuts the waffle, no cutting in of sharp elbowed parents, no standing around waiting...3 -
I'm rather gutted that I have to go into my school next week to do a parents eve IN PERSON! Especially as it's a y9 one, like I've just attended ONLINE... We have an appointment system (a paper one, how quaint!!!) with 5 min slots, so down to 3 once you get them sat down/stood up and have said hello...

I would be gutted too. When we used to have paper systems and I was bf I may have filled in the last two slots of the night ahead of time. M.Mouse and D.Duck's parents ALWAYS wanted those slots.apple_muncher said:I'm rather gutted that I have to go into my school next week to do a parents eve IN PERSON! I've crossed out the last 90 mins of mine. Out of 180. Shhhh, don't tell on me... Being an option, not many kids really want to see me, and I only have a very small teaching group anyway, and 2, who aren't opting but are lovely and who can't see me when I want them to, will get nice emails home instead. And I only have 4 signed up so far... I'll do my best to look busy on the night... Very busy indeed...Alchemilla, I'm surprised you only filled in 2 slots! We only very recently ever had a booking system at all... There were massive queues for some teachers who talked a lot, so I often resorted to catching parents as they queued elsewhere. Nice and speedy and kept everyone happy...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3

Dc is off school today. Wiped out. Says that if they had had yesterday off, they would have recovered enough and been fit to go in today. Worth knowing.Dh is out visiting a friend, so we have the house to ourselves. Well, I have the house really, as dc is staying in bed! So a wash is on, I am streaming a utube of crossfit onto the telly and am about to cut up some old cotton red check jama bottoms to make elephants. I am rockin' this 'having the house to myself' lark... I also have access to coffee and chocolate, so all is well.
