  • I'm in the middle of my first item now, started it two months ago but,as it isn't finished, i will count it when it is done. It's a large cross stitch, and i just have the back stitch to do now. I wish i'd started this last week when i decorated 15 gift bags, did a decorative birdhouse, a die cut lamp shade and some image transfer coasters!

Some INS today, but i've allowed for these, as it's my craft subscription box. I won't post the contents in case anybody else subscribes and hasn't received theirs yet, but i'm very pleased with the contents.

Well dond for starting emslovesmickey. I made loads of bits last week too so am wishing id started this thread earlier too :p

I don't really have a lot of spare time so my target of 50 pieces might be a bit of a challenge... but that's what life's for, isn't it? :)

Life is definitely a challenge bluedaisy :) but hey ho we are all in this together and we can take as long as we need (apart from me obviously who is busy thinking all the stuff I hope will be in the January sales :D )

Well I did think this was a great idea when I read it yesterday morning but then in the afternoon I saw that there were some stamps I liked on special offer so... just under £20 later...
I have been on a craft stuff diet for the past year - avoided going to the ally pally craft show and have asked myself if I really needed something before I bought it - many times I've had a look and decided I already have a stamp that's fairly similar or I could do something adapting what I have. I find challenges really useful to do as you tend to dig out old stuff you haven't used in a while. I'm currently coming to the end of a dictionary challenge where we have been given a letter every fortnight and we have to do something using our chosen word beginning with that letter. I'm doing it straight into a dictionary I picked up in a charity shop but others are doing journals, ATCs and someone is even doing a mixed media printer tray. Sorry I appear to have hijacked your thread but I just wanted to say I will be watching this with interest and good luck to you all.

:rotfl: oh scrapmate you sound just like me. Keep reading this thread and you will see that I will get tempted by something sooner or later ;) however then we can leave it to the others of us to punish us for our sins (or just to laugh and feel that they can buy something too :D

    Feel like joining us? ;)

Crafting mad - you made me chuckle 500 things by Xmas to buy some more stash ... If you do we have to set new targets in the new year lol

I made a Christmas card yesterday. I know one card don't sound a lot but I have a free day today so I'm going to craft :-) see if I can make a dent in my 500 things. I'll take pics later and blog them .. Fingers crossed

Hi scrap mate sounds intriguing straight into a dictionary.

I thought that would make you laugh. Im sure all us crafters are the same :D

Well done on finishing your first item. I have amended your total in post 3 accordingly xx

    Hi!
I need to get back on track financially and hopefully joining here will help! There are 3 things it will help me achieve
    1. Stop crafty spending
    2. Get back to regularly making things every day if I can
    3. Clear some space

I'll go for 500 makes- in the past my maximum rate for new makes was 1 a day so even if I get back to that I'm expecting this challenge to last over a year!
That means I'll have to make an exception of buying new glue when I need it!
Although I don't buy from the channel that should not be named I do watch it most days for inspiration. I might have to stop that as inspiration seems to lead to new stash!!
This is going to be a major challenge for me so I'll need support to stay on the wagon! :money:

Hi jellie great to have aboard xxx

Dont worry as crafters I think it will be a major challenge for all of us :p but we will all hopefully help and support each other along the way :)

Your reasons are an inspiration for us all :)

Keep posting your progress and happy creating :)

  • Well sadly I have been too busy to get any crafting done today so no more for my total. However I am a very proud mummy as my 6 year old competed in his first school sports competition tonight and the team came 2nd. He even got awarded an extra certificate for being the outstanding boy in his team. Im beaming with pride :)

Crafting mad- well done DS on his achievement and you beam girl . It's great to see the kids getting on. I love hearing about them. Congratulations to the crafting mad household.

Well I had a good day yesterday. I made 6 beauty bags for the girlies in the family. And 10 cards , at least I think it's 10 will have to count them to make sure. Have photographed them but will blog them later. I have a load of sweets here hanging about so I will make some sweet trees and cones for stocking fillers today. That will clear some space .

Love this thread already, I can make some 'gaps' in my room , I hope

  • Well ok put me down for 50. I finished 10 C-cards last night and completed this fortnight's dictionary page (Q for question). Not that I'm trying to tempt anyone but no one said we couldn't feast our eyes on stuff. Is anyone following Jennifer McGuire's My Favourite Things videos on her blog?
