Retailer charged me for a service without telling me

I just find it strange how so many people on here accept poor customer service. The shop should have made it obvious this was a chargeable service before they started. Like the OP I would have been amazed that they would charge for this.0

But if you signed a contract which had the full price, you would have accepted the work done and the charge for it.
Also if you left the store without checking the receipt maybe that would equate to accepting the charge?
These are just opinions, but I can't really see how you can get your money back, once you have accepted the charge, signed a contract or simply paid for it and left the shop.
But someone else might know more about the legal position.
Actually I'd say a contract for services was formed, but the terms of the contract wasn't fully agreed -
And I suspect if a case like this was ever put in front of a judge then they would allow a 'reasonable' charge.0 -

As consumers we also have to take some of the blame as in this case the OP should of also asked if their was a charge. Assuming their is no charge is totally irresponsible.
I don't agree, most people on here are always on the retailers side. The shop was carrying out an irreversible procedure using a very low cost machine and I think they should have warned the customer it was chargeable.
