I would have thought that will trigger the moisture indicators which will void the warranty anywayI looked up with this problem and lot's of people are having the same problem and they advice you to put your phone in the freezer, i was scared but i've put it in the fridge ana now i can switch the wifi button on but it just going to searching for network
It's not just about the money0 -
As they've told me they can't do nothing because the warranty has finished there's no harm in trying as the phone is no good without the wifi for me that why i took the contract in the beginning.0

Thats true but theres been quite a number of cases where Apple have agreed to replace/repair when it's only just gone out of warranty by a week or two.
It seems to be a case of who you speak to and where you go as to the result ....however if the indicators are tripped it would be a definate no dealIt's not just about the money0 -
Ive never paid for a replacement from apple regardless of warranty status, actually I lied, I had am Iphone4 replaced in June which was 2 years out of warranty for £1.19 (apparently it was so out of warranty they couldn't do a 100% discount so took 99% off). I must just be lucky when it comes to apple!:beer:0

You must have met a really anal apple store employee, 1 day out of warranty and they didn't replace it for free, go back on another day and try again, also have you tried a full restore as mentioned earlier
Anal, but correct. The warranty is a contract between consumer and manufacturer which is limited to one year. Any remedy under sale of goods is between the consumer and the retailer, CPW.
I think it would be much better if apple treated all customers the same way but they don't. Perhaps now there's a clear policy if the product was bought through another retailer.0 -
Yes, I imagine that Apple would replace it without a fuss if it was the retailer because then it continues to have a statutory obligation after its contractual obligation ends.Bingolingo wrote: »Perhaps now there's a clear policy if the product was bought through another retailer.
Always buy an iPhone directly from Apple, never from a third party. Then it's much simpler to enforce your rights.0 -

I don't think that you tripped them by placing the phone in a fridge, but you seem to not know what these indicators are. Google and check your(s).0
