Can the vouchers be used for items other than cakes? E.g. a scone or millionaire shortbread.

Also, as an aside, do you have to pay for the jam separately if buying a scone. The jam comes is rather expensive looking jars, hence my question.

As far as I can tell all cakes and bakery items are included but if u want jam or cream for your scone u have to pay for that. But it can depend on each store policy. Some are more generous than others. Best just to ask when u in the queue. Before you get to the till

Our JL does scones with jam and cream already on which I've had previously.
Why pay full price when you may get it YS ;)

Unusually, I made a large purchase at JL the other day - around the £500 mark - and commented to the guy making the sale that using the My John Lewis card was more likely to reduce the chances of the free cake/coffee vouchers than increase it.

Interestingly, he agreed. So maybe there is a system - and maybe the Partners are well aware of it!

Just received 2 vouchers today - drink & cake for 7-31 January & £5 voucher to be sent if I spend £50 in store or online. First cake & tea voucher for me for months.
Also note to check contact preferences on website to allow them to send updates, treats and rewards.

I stopped getting the emails, even though my preferences showed I was set up to receive them. I spent several weeks emailing and finally ringing them and got the emails coming through again for about a week. Now they have stopped again. I only know because DH is still getting the emails two or three times a week. I haven't received any vouchers in the last round either, or the one before.

One of the emails I received from them stated I hadn't purchased anything since 2014, when my account details clearly showed the last time I bought something was October 2015. So they can't even get that right. The tone of the email was a bit snooty too.

I feel like giving up now. It's not just about a free cup of coffee, it's about feeling appreciated as a customer and I certainly don't feel that any more.

Has anyone picked up the "free" Christmas cracker instead of the hot drink and cake, which is shown on our latest voucher for December.

I fancy getting the cracker for a change ,but OH wants to stay with the hot drink.

    Is the cracker worth trying?

Just received one new JL tea and cake voucher valid 29 Apr - 27 May. Also a voucher for £5 gift voucher on £50 spend. All three members of my household received the same voucher. As usual no loyalty, I purchased several items at JL before Christmas whereas other family members didn't.

Chatting about that with a John Lewis partner recently - his advice was that using the card actually reduced the chances of receiving a voucher.

Odd company, John Lewis, sometimes. The wife wanted various small haberdashery items which weren't in stock too. £2 'delivery' charge just to reserve them for collection when they come back into stock. How daft is that?

Result - items purchased on eBay, and another customer lost to John Lewis. :)
