Latest update from me is that 3 out of the 4 in my household have received one JL tea and cake voucher for different months. All issued different weeks, so really is random, btw none of us have spent in JL the last few months. My friend received four vouchers running up to next Feb, but hadnt spent in JL either, so who knows what logic JL use!0

Still nothing at all here.0

Still nothing. I last bought a couple of things in July. Nothing for my husband either.0

Weve bought quite a lot at JL in the last 6 months, new carpets for the house etc. Received a large number of vouchers, one a month for now until January, free glass of Prosecco, 2 vouchers with no dates on (use any time) and some other bits and peices.0

Just a reminder of the first post in this thread:
Sign up for a John Lewis membership card and you will be entitled to a free hot drink and cake every month in-store.
Membership also entitles you to exclusive rewards, competitions, and local events.
Laughable, isn't it, how John Lewis can degrade everything in the increasingly desperate pursuit of profit - and whilst doing that lose even more customers!
Hot drink and cake every month - where did they go?
Free delivery to John Lewis and Waitrose stores - where did that go?
Free coffee in Waitrose cafes - gone too.
Free newspapers the next to go?
Aldi and Amazon are an awful lot cheaper than Waitrose and John Lewis - take away the goodies and watch the customers slowly disappear.0 -

They have cut it down to once every so often because it was making them such a huge loss - a family member works in one of the biggest JL restaurants and they were struggling to make any profit because of the free coffee and cake. JL is a far more ethical business model than many. Its a bit sad to complain because they give you less free stuff than they used to - most department stores/supermarkets give none!
And the getting of vouchers or not is related to how much you purchase or not.0 -

Andy Street, John Lewis CEO, has worked out, quite cannily, that giving away coffees, papers, cakes etc is a good way of keeping customer loyalty - particularly when Waitrose and John Lewis prices are so much higher than the competition - notably Amazon.
It's a clever plan, but you do risk alienating those customers if you take away what you've given - or if you don't deliver what you promised. Or - for that matter - if you devise a scheme, such as this one, which actually provides more coffees and cakes to people who don't actually make purchases than to those who do!0 -

My parents have never purchased a thing but have received every voucher going.
I have purchased items and have not had a voucher for a long time now.
It's only a free bit of cake of course, but it's more that JL seem keen to reward non-customers than their customers. If other customers are like me, it makes me go elsewhere on principle - regardless of what the 'loyalty' reward is.0
