If you scroll down to the banner advert, one of the four slides says you'll receive a hot drink and cake at least three times a year.
Well spotted! Advertising Standards Authority?0 -

Have you not received anything at all then during the last 12 months?
I can see this offer being totally withdrawn if they get too many people complaining about not receiving vouchers.
The problem with John Lewis is, though, good company that it normally is, that it quite often makes promises it can't or won't keep. This may well be another one of them.
The classic is the Never Knowingly Undersold policy - which is simply not followed except on certain well-publicised days when they make great play of reducing prices in line with another retailer - usually Debenhams. The rest of the time they'll usually price match an individual item when someone makes a NKU claim, but they rarely follow through by reducing the price in their stores - even when it's a national retailer such as Argos.0 -

This is true, I bought a kettle off them a few months ago and then a few days later it was cheaper in Debenhams, I filled in the online form and got the price difference back and then checked their webpage and they hadn't reduced it there, so yes they were "knowingly undersold".0 -

I'm confused as it says this on their website
" The prices we match
We match prices publicly available to all customers, based on those displayed in a shop, on the high street competitor's own website, or the first price quoted to us over the phone. The price has to apply to an identical individual product in terms of make, model, size or colour. We match bundles only on a case by case basis, and we don't match special prices only available to certain customers – such as negotiated prices or prices for groups like account holders or club members. We don't match prices only available via 3rd party websites, or with voucher codes."0 -

We set highly competitive prices for all our products, with a dedicated team regularly checking them against other high street competitors. If we find a national high street competitor offering a better nationwide price for the same individual product, sold with the same service conditions, we'll lower our price to match in all our shops and on our website, including when a competitor is having a sale.
Some high street competitors have a different nationwide shop price to their online price; in that instance we'll match whichever is the lower of the two across our shops and on our website. We also know that some high street competitors have a lower price in specific shops. Where these shops are in the local area of a John Lewis branch, we'll lower our price in that branch to match.
The point being made here is that JL are not 'never knowingly undersold' - they're frequently undersold (and they know it) because they frequently don't do what their policy claims they do, which is "lower our price to match in all our shops and on our website".
John Lewis has a very positive reputation - they do, in fairness, look after you when there are problems with an item. But they do not always keep their promises. The 'Never Knowingly Undersold' promise is broken all the time, and it looks as if it may be the same with the claims to send out drink/cake vouchers 'at least three times a year'.0 -
Thanks, I stand corrected.:EasterBun0
