Are you sure the 23rd is your minimum term for your contract?
You didn't do a upgrade last time did you? because it looks like they have charged you for three extra months
If you had an early upgrade then the remaining months from the old contract will go on the new contract so instead of being 24mth you would end up with 27mths that would make your contract end Jan/feb 2014.
on my online status, it states all my 3 contracts end on 23/11/2013, this is the date I'm working off, and no one has said otherwise at EE
hence I called EE on the 23.Oct.2013, to try and renew on the same terms, as they would not renew on the same terms, I gave notice to quit (as well as requesting my PAC codes)

the crazy thing here is, on my latest online bill 2 out of the 3 sim only deals have the discount still on, the same discount they said they could not honor any longer
as mentioned several times, My PAC code request was refused (I was told to call back in 30 days), I then called back on the 28.Oct.2013, where I got the 3 PAC codes there and then, and was told I have 30 days to use the codes0 -
I've had times where I've only been charged to the point where my mobile number transfers over. Three did this in recent memory.
Three charge 30 days after the pac, I not long did oneDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
The way it should work as far as i can tell is like this:
The pac counts as your 30 day notice (and it is valid for 30 days). since you will normally complete the transfer of your number before these 30 days are up the network is entitled to bill you until the end of the 30 day period. If that 30 day notice period would take you beyond the minimum commitment then that will be all you need to pay. If it does not then you will be charged a termination or early cancellation fee which would normally be the total outstanding between the end of your 30 day notice and the end of the minimum term.
The provider cannot refuse to give you a pac. even if you have several months left on the contract. They must give you pac as requested and then charge you for an early termination of the contract. Also its not 5 days. The pac must be issued immediately over the phone or by text withing 2 hours (source OFCOM website, just search for pac). If your provider is saying different then record the conversation or ask that they state their position in writing then pass it on to ofcom.0 -

Thanks for the clarification, it makes sense the way I read it
shame about the messing I've had with EE
just to clarify now,
my first request for PAC was refused, despite giving my 30 day notice to quit, I was advised to call back after the 30 days to get the PAC code, to avoid being charged for it ???
it sounds like when I called back on the 28.Oct and spoke to very helpful Scottish lady (I assume in the UK) not only did she sort the PAC codes out, she advised me I had 30 days to use these codes
I did query this, as I had originally asked on the 23.Oct, and my contract finishes on the 23.Nov
she then stated the small charge for the few days of line rental (from the date of my final bill (15th) until the 23.Nov, as this was only a few £££'S she would arrange a credit on the account to cover this, (a £2.50 goodwill gesture appears on my final bill)
however no one mentioned being charged the dreaded early termination fee, and no one mentioned being charged a full month's line rental, after my contract ends ??
hence I've been trying to get to the bottom of it
Thanks for the replies and advice0 -
My two deal with Tesco ends 7th Jan 2014.
So if I ask them for the PAC on 8th December and ensure it's not used until 7th Jan Tesco will then take the final payment two weeks later without any termination charges?0 -
Why two weeks and two weeks after what?
The final bill has to be issued after 7th Jan. As you pay for about a half of billing month in advance, it's possible that you won't owe them anything. If you do, the payment will be taken later as per the final bill. It can be that they owe you a refund: Reclaim Phone Credit: Have you switched providers?...0 -

Thanks. They will issue the final bill on 7th Jan and I assume they will collect by direct debit a couple of weeks later. I will have a look at your link.0
