Methinks you take posting on here far too seriously.

So how much did it cost to change your car and what is the depreciation over the next three years compared to the Mondeo you already had? I suspect you are well out of pocket but look forward to seeing your sums and figures in your next post to justify and back up the statement you made in your original post about saving money.
  • There's a good reason why someone may waste a lot of money on a Rolex and a Rolls Royce rather than a Timex and a Trabant, and it's got little to do with either telling the time or getting from A to B.

I used to heat my home now I just wear a jumper instead, saves a fortune on the gas bill.

Simply convert to lpg, run your tank out and wait two months until your supplier can refill it.
  • Cars are even worse than the Utilitys, when you swap you enter a bit of a lottery, is the mileage correct ,has the clutch been ridden at every traffic light leading to some clutch /flywheel assembly repairs costing over a £1000 with fitting costs.Has the oil filter been changed, was it owned by an under 25 thrashing its little engine to an inch of its life. etc etc

If your girlfriend insists on too high a room temperature and long showers why not dump her and exchange her for a boyfriend - he is less likely to be cold-blooded.

I can assure you this is not the case, since my fella moved in the bills have risen from £50 a month to £135 month... (the temperature is not allowed to drop below 20oC at any time)

I wouldn't have it any other way mind :)
  • I'd rather keep the Mondeo sit in the cold.

I don't think we will be hearing any more claptrap from ihateyes on the subject now. His poor money saving tips have been well rumbled.

Bills are going up, and the squeeze is on, so how can you save money to pay for these increases?

    Well here goes.

I used to drive a Mondeo 1.7, and recently i changed to a VW up 1.0.

On the Mondeo i was spending around £75 to fill the tank and getting roughly 440miles.

In the 1.0 VW up, im spending £45 and getting the same mileage.

Thats a whopping £30 saving a tank, on top of cheaper insurance, cheaper finance, and cheaper road tax.

Now for someone who fills up on average twice a month thats £720 saving over the year, add in the savings on the above, and you can almost cover the gas/elec bill.

Both cars do 70 mph, admittedly the 1.0 might take a few seconds longer to get to desired speed.
Get rid of the car and walk everywhere - you'll save £900 on fuel AND the heating costs will go down because it will take longer to walk than drive, so you'll spend less time indoors! :)
The best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.
