Children don't need photo ID. Just birth certificates are sometimes asked for

Jersey is part of the Common Travel Area so you don't need a passport to travel but the airline or ferry may as for photo ID for a security check. However, when I've flown to Jersey with BA they've never asked for anything and treated it as an internal flight.

Airlines continually change their checkin requirements. I flew to Guerney Nov 2012 and had to present ID at checkin. Contact the airline directly, GET A NAME, and do not risk turning up at the airport without checking this. Especially where children are concerned, I think it is imperitive that you clear this up ( kidnapping etc ..)
Airline requirements are often different to customs/requirements.
    Have a lovely time!
  • Flybe don't require a passport, just photo id eg driving licence/ buspass, however I believe they are in the minority and other airlines need passports - who will you be flying with?

The only airline that REQURES a passport for a domestic flight is Ryanair. Others just need a photo id or none at all. You need to check with the particular carrier as to which ids are OK

Don't think they fly to Jersey anyway.

No, Ryanair doesn't specifically require a passport; an EEA or Swiss national ID card is accepted both by Ryanair and by all EEA and Schengen immigration controls. The fact that British (except Gibraltar residents and 13,200 in the UK), Irish and Danish citizens don't have national ID cards does not affect the types of travel document that Ryanair accepts.
