Actually for the best taste experience it should be chocolate down because then the chocolate is on your tongue. The same applies to things like nigiri, which should be eaten with the fish-side down so it hits your tongue first.

Don't know which way I do it - and don't have a packet handy to see what I instinctively do.

Though it truly amazes me that there are 'rules' and a 'right' and a 'wrong' over a trivial (well less than trivial) matter such as this.

Proof of the inevitability of war I suppose

naw - you sandwich two together with the chocolate in the middle - that way your fingers don't get all chocolatey! even less messy then when you dunk them!

That's one hell of a soggy mouthful ;)

Am so intrigued I might give it a try though :p
  • Lick all the choc off, then you have a plain digestive and it doesn't matter either way?!

    P. S. Does this go for chocolate Hobnobs too? :j

Or how do you eat a Custard Cream?

(I split it in two, [ensuring that all the cream is on one side] and eat the cream followed by the 2 biscuits)

If the cream breaks I quickly munch the biscuit whole, to hide the evidence. ;)
  • Chocolate up, and absolutely NO dunking allowed!

Split in two, eat the plain half, then the cream then the other biscuit. If there was a way to eat all the biscuit then the cream I'd do that.

Twixes, eat the biscuit then the caramel.

That was my daughters response, until I pointed out that 70 - 75% of what we perceive as taste is from smell so having the chocolate under your nose is better.
