naw - you sandwich two together with the chocolate in the middle - that way your fingers don't get all chocolatey! even less messy then when you dunk them!

I wholly agree. I tend to break one in half and then sandwich, dunk in tea and eat. That way, they get softer quicker, the chocolate melts and doesn't go all over me!

What's the 'loose' end, is this some kind of regional thing?

    Chocolate up, btw.

I think your co-worker needs something better to do than watch you eat :D

I fold my loose ends into a triangle at the front as that's how I've seen them do it at fancy hotels. :D

What's the loose end though? The broken edge?

Loose end at the back, yes. This is known as "under".

Right. Great. I'd been reading in lot of places that this is for some reason wrong. Yea, I am not a pariah.

Chocolate up. Though once I picked up what I thought was a plain digestive and bit into it, only to discover to my great delight that it was a chocolate one that had been placed choc side down on a plate. If you put biscuits out you'd just pick up one and put it into your mouth the same way it had been on a plate, you wouldn't turn it round. Chocolate biscuits are put out with the chocolate on top, so you'd put them into your mouth the same way.
