hi, wondered if any could help/advise,
since updating to IE11 late last night the emoticons/smileys on MSE aren't working for me,
I've been into my options & checked that Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing is clicked on but it still won't let me use the smileys,
I've switched to Standard Editor for the time being which only allows me the basic using the codes for them,
grateful for any advice/help x

Neither does clicking the quote button.
Whenever I want to quote something I have to do it manually.Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0 -

Test quote and smiley.
EDIT: Quote works for me, but smiley doesn't.

Hi,
I updated my notebook to IE11 yesterday, and just noticed this morning that none of the icon buttons work when posting a reply, smilies, link, add a pic, even change of font or colour.
Still on IE10 on laptop and it is fine, so will be going back to IE10 on notebook, and will wait for a fix before updating.0 -
Check whether Enhanced Protected Mode is enabled in Internet Options/Advanced/Security. It was enabled by default in IE11 on my clean Win 8.1 install and prevented a lot of things working as expected on various websites, including online banking issues.
Disabling the option set much of it to IE10 behaviour, including the ability to re-order favourites menus by dragging and deleting directly from the menu itself, rather than only through the editor.
The only issue I still have is that I can't cut and paste into replies in some forums, but after a bit of investigation with one of the sites affected that seems to be a forum software incompatibility problem, rather than a settings issue with IE11 on my machine.
I can cut and paste in MSE for example with no problems.0 -
I've had the same problem with losing one click use of MSE's smileys since updating to IE11 in Windows 7.
I can still use them though by right clicking on the smiley and selecting copy from the menu ... then right click in the message and select paste to insert it. A bit of a pain but doable.
Hopeful the MSE website team will be updating their code to work with IE11.... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0
