Hi, advice would be great, I have had a second debt letter from CCSCOLLECT via G24, with a notice of intended action, I have been arguing the parking notice since July and have been told I am not able to do anything about it but to pay the fine??? :(

I have until 10am 16/11/2013 to pay £135.00 if the full amount is not paid a collector will visit my house to discuss my debt!

  • Hi I'm no expert on this matter, I'd wait for a reply from either "coupon mad" or "guys dad" to confirm this, but I believe that if the parking notice was from a private parking company it is not legally enforceable as they are often acting on behalf of the land owner (normally not them) as such they cannot enforce the rights of the owner and chase you up for money.

The most common advice is to ignore the ticket until you get your notice to keeper in the post, at which point you should head back here to get help on your POPLA appeal (needs to be written in a certain way to be successful).

Since you've been arguing this since july thats past the 56 day notice period so i'm not really sure what is the best course of action for you (you may have missed the POPLA appeal deadline).

Wait for one of the people i've mentioned to confirm.

G24 have never done court and are a bunch of conning cowboys.

    They have :

    > Broken their contract with Nominet
    > Avoided paying tax
    > Broken the BPA CoP

You've gone so far now you can continue to ignore them.

PS - debt collectors do NOT visit houses ! I had exactly the same offer from them and guess what ? No rat turned up !
  • really? it will be just my luck that one will :( I almost paid it today, it was only the fact I googled G24 for their number that I began reading this forum... still feeling anxious at not paying the fine though :/

It's not a fine, only statutory authorities (e.g. the police, the council) can issue parking fines. Private companies can not issue fines or penalties of any sort which is why they have to mislead people into believing they can.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

  • Please don't think of it as a fine, it is not! It is just a speculative invoice, like someone random saying you "owe me £££" for no particular reason.
Some of the regulars will be on help you soon, I am sure, but in the meantime, read up some of the threads on here and DO NOT PAY the nasty scumbags anything! You will get the help you need on here.
  • Thank you for your help :) I am feeling very blonde right about now not knowing this lol xx

    Nonononononono!! :eek::eek:

Did they send the first letter by day 15?

Have you read the sticky threads at the top of this forum - that's what they are there for, to inform newbies. Because you may still be able to complain to the BPA and DVLA to get it cancelled if it's not compliant (e.g. if it was sent late or doesn't comply with the wording needed). All explained in the sticky thread 'newbies...read this now!' including email addresses and links to allow you to check your Notice to Keeper (the first 'PCN' letter).

You could also read the 'successful complaints' sticky thread and simply complain to the Store Manager/Retail Park if you were a customer. Store Managers cancel these in batches for complaining customers at some car parks.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • I don't know how this page works :( only joined earlier, Ill have a look through to see if I can find it thank you
