Parking ticket at matalan

Hi all, I was looking at smart parking website and my ticket in question and noticed two pics were taken of my car I guess to prove I was parked in disabled bay without badge, is this the norm to take pics, getting worried as have never been in a situation like this before
Stop worrying and get on with your life for a month or so until the lovely NTO arrives!
You are not in any 'situation' except one where you can have a laugh, and beat a scam.
Your case is like this one and they are not panicking:

Just wait for the Notice to Keeper and spot the errors in it seeing as you have already read the sticky thread of information, and seeing as (on that linked thread) I have already mentioned an error in Smart NTOs that follow windscreen tickets. One of several points of appeal that's already covered in the sticky thread link you have already read.
Of course the person who placed the ticket on your car took a photo. Why not read the Parking Prankster's blogs about the fun he had with Highview appeals - and then won with decent appeal wording at POPLA stage:
http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/highview-parking-spurred-into-immediate.html
http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/search?q=elvis
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/05/17/carpark_superhero_numberplate/
Having said that, we do suggest a half-decent appeal point at first stage when you get the NTK. And that's covered in the sticky thread you read.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And when you get off this one, you may as well go on using disabled spaces from then on. Saves a bit of a walk and they can't touch you.

That is not what we mean at all and if you knew my background you wouldn't imply that we are peddling that sort of parking as OK. We are NOT and never do condone this. I am one of the first to lecture on here, people parking in disabled bays if not disabled, but Hovite had already delivered the necessary slapped wrist.
If the OP didn't realise at first then it cannot have been well signed IMHO. And no-one should pay a PPC for the error - often a donation to charity is given when we help these posters get their fake PCN cancelled. No-one should pay a third party parasite PPC in this situation but nor should they assume it is OK; it is not.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

He said he noticed as he walked away, but thought as only 5 minutes it would be OK.
The amount of times I have heard "only five minutes" is too many. It takes me longer than that to just get my chair set up. I would be happy to see even harsher penalties so people realise the level of problems they cause.
Truly cannot see why anyone would try to get a moron like this off and if a company earn a few quid I don't really care.
Sorry to go on but able bodies drivers taking disabled bays it is a bugbear of mine.0 -

Mine too. And he was wrong.
FWIW my background includes 3 disabled relatives and two relevant jobs as a Manager of a disabled services and a driver of disabled people.
But what I hate most is when people with Blue Badges think that cars parked without Blue Badges are automatically not allowed to be parked there. In fact in many cases (NOT this one) the person is disabled and the BB has fallen down or they don't have one but still are disabled in law (under the Equality Act 2010). We help a lot of people on here who are genuinely disabled and picked on by these aggressive PPCs. One day we could help you if your BB falls down from view.PRIVATE 'PCN'? We are not here to judge people but to help them, I also post a lot on the Equality Act on here, and am actually disabled under the Act, but do not use disabled parking bays as others have more need than myself.
But it doesn't entitle companies to penalise people for parking in these bays without a blue badge, ukcps for example specialise in harassing people using disabled bays, they take people to court even though they are disabled, they deliberately target people making simple mistakes, they make no adjustment under the act, they act illegally!
We do not condone car park abuse, we don't encourage people to do anything unethical, and we don't tell people not to pay legitimate charges for parking. And we help everyone who asks for it.When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

I will judge that action and could not bring myself to helping him get away with it. I consider doing that a kick in the te
eth to the truly disabled who have a pretty hard time as it is.
Seems a bit like the lawyers who get rich people off drink driving charges on spurious technicalities.
Apologies for the rant.0 -
This is what Martin says about the reasons for setting up this forum, this post is on the bankruptcy forum by the way, I have edited out some of it but the relevant facts remain below.
I respect his reasoning, I also respect your standpoint on this, but we cannot pick and choose who we help, what would that say about us? I am sorry but I will continue to help even if I feel personally they perhaps should not have done what they have done.I didn't set up MSE to be personally judgemental, but to help people whatever their circumstances.
.......
Please use your knowledge and kindness to help rather than to berate.
If you feel it’s important to point something out that the poster may find negative but needs to understand, then it's not a problem, but do think carefully about your phrasing - people can be very sensitive and nuances may mislead when it’s in an online Forum.

Can I just say that it's not what I usually do. I never park in a disabled bay, however on this occasion the car park was literally jam packed and initially I just thought it was a normal space, I was still wondering as I was walking past wether it was or not as there were normal white parking lines as well. I guess was contemplating as I was walking which lines were old and new as there were white lines and yellow lines. I knew I would be 5 mins as I just wanted to check how the item looked and I was and came straight out. The parking attendent was standing there and did not bat an eye lid. I just naively thought its ok otherwise he would of said something. It was a kind of split second decision. I did not intend to cause any malice to anyone and don't feel should hav to pay a fine for it either to some 3rd party, i would gladly put the money towards a charity for my ill decision.0
