Heard it all before.
5 minutes, it was raining, etc etc
Which charity are going to send the cash to?0 -
I am a mum with young children and it also annoys me when people who have no children park in those bays for mum and child. Im sure other mums will agree car parks can be very dangerous places especially when you cannot see a little one and they have minds of their own and things can get out of hand. I have witnessed and experienced this. But whilst it annoys me I don't feel they should get penalised for it.0

All well and good, but the person that started this thread saying he had knowingly parked in a disabled bay as he thought 5 minutes was OK.
I will judge that action and could not bring myself to helping him get away with it. I consider doing that a kick in the te
eth to the truly disabled who have a pretty hard time as it is.
Seems a bit like the lawyers who get rich people off drink driving charges on spurious technicalities.
Apologies for the rant.
I understand where you are coming from and I have some sympathies with your view. I tend to stay off a thread such as this as I know others will help and I reconcile my attitude as "there are lots of threads on here and I ration my advice, as most of use do".
But can I make a couple of points.
1. In this thread, there is a degree of honesty in the opening post that not all similar OPs exhibit.
2. We have lots of disabled people on here who either have forgotten to display their badges, have out of date ones as they have forgotten to renew them or are suffering from a temporary disability that would not warrant a Blue Badge, but incapacitates them nonetheless.
From a personal point of view, a couple of years ago I had a knee operation and could not bend my leg. It wasn't till then that I discovered how debilitating this was and why you need the extra room to open doors and get out of a car. So I do have sympathy with non-blue badge holders who do need the extra space or shorter walk to their destination and I have no liking for the PPCs who refuse to show any discretion to those cases.
So, Scrootum, next time you see a car without a blue badge in a disabled space, it might, just might belong to someone who genuinely needs it, so they might not be "stealing" a disabled spot.0 -

Oh well.
Did the outfit look OK, did you buy it?0 -
The other thing that annoys me is my neighbour has a disabled badge and one of those disabled bays outside his house but he parks outside my house and the other neighbours and leaves his bay empty, for other family members, visitors etc. but when it is chok a block on the road and no parking only then does he use his disabled bay. I am sure everyone has experiences on all levels. Yet again I don't feel he should be penalised and made to pay fines especially during these hard times.0

By the way I did not get it so it was a waste of journey, made a mistake, got a ticket, now on top of everyday stresses that we all have to deal with its just something else on my mind. I have never been in a situation like this before !!0
