I think the key point is that it is not a trip of a lifetime but a Turbo trip of a lifetime. I imagine that there must be some sort of family angle to it (themepark etc) plus the pictures on header show families. I wonder if there were more specific terms actually in the Funday publication.

Best image I can find. "Win a family holiday to Orlando"

I see your point, but it was not clearly defined, and not defined at all in the T&C's. Cos, you know, since when has the term family been used only to describe a unit of adults and kids. We don't grow up and stop being a family.

I love kids movies like Turbo and I absolutely adore the themeparks in Orlando! I'd quite happily go without children (and I have friends - who don't have kids - who go there every year).

I'd agree with this- I absolutely love Orlando (third trip next year) and I don't have any children. There is SO much more to it than kids (I'm a wealth of knowledge OP if you need any help planning!). In relation to the prize, if the t's and c's didn't state 2 adults, 2 kids, who on earth are they to determine what a 'family' is? Me, my partner and our pet hamster are a family in my eyes. I would fight this OP and I hope you get to take it.

Just had a reply to my email saying "I have sent this to legal to have a view on it. Will get back to you a.s.a.p."

What? How ridiculous! I think this means that they know that they didn't clearly define it in the comp header (online) or in the T&C's and now they want to see if they can get away with denying you the prize. Which sucks! Fingers crossed their legal team tell them they need to give you the prize!

    good grief.

At least we may get a lol if they come back with a "legal" definition of a family

Suprised such a big company is trying to get out of giving you your prize but think they will have to give you it as nothing in the conditions. My children are grown up and i still enter family comps as I think many do.As people have said they will save money if no children go.

    Hi

It was me that this happened to earlier this year with a trip to orlando with the sun.

unfortunately I didn't get anywhere by going to the IPM in terms of getting anything back but it was printed in theguardian and The Sun got a good telling off!

Definitely try though and let us know the outcome!

    Hi,

I entered this comp yesterday and i specifically checked to see if there was any mention of it being a "family comp" (specifically 2 adults and 2 children.)

That's the only reason i entered - because there was no mention of these things. I also remember being annoyed at the lack of terms and conditions in terms of dates e.t.c
