Probably worth registering each of your party for Blue status with BA.

The points from a trip across the pond and back will get mighty close to funding a return flight to Europe in the future.

Don't worry, with AA you can book seats as soon as you've paid for your flight.

If it let you choose those seats then you've got them.

Maybe now there are less seats left some have changed to the preferred seats. Or you paid a high fare and so were allowed to access them as malkie said.

    Relax! :)

Booked with BA Holidays. There's lots of Avios to be had here.

Just realised the "I was able to pass through the BA site to the AA site and pick seats on both inbound and outbound" - it's possible the Avios are already in the bag.

Yes but because the flight is with AA you can choose your seats as soon as you've booked - unlike BA.

I prefer the American advantage programme, miles seem to get you more value than Avios.
