AA / BA Seating

Hi
We have booked a trip the USA via British Airways Holidays (its flights and hotels). The airline we are flying with is American airlines via a codeshare.
When I booked the holiday (6 weeks ago) I was able to pass through the BA site to the AA site and pick seats on both inbound and outbound. This is economy class.
These show on my BA booking as "seats confirmed".
I have been keeping an eye on the flight, and today, one month before travel, if you do a dummy booking, most of the seats in economy are "extra preference" seating, ie those on a aisle, or windows. The only seats that dont have these are in the middle seat of a 3 window seats or some of the middle seats in centre row. To book now in the seats we have would cost an extra £30-£50.
My question, will they be looking for me to pay this? Either at some point before departure or at check in?
When I booked my seats none of the ones I picked had this extra charge to them nor asked to pay. I am only familiar with paying extra for exit rows etc on british carriers that charge for premium seats. I guess I will need to phone BA or AA, but don't want to alert them if its all ok.
Thanks

It says "seats confirmed", so would assume all is OK. Is it an AA 3-4-3 aircraft?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Yes it says "Seat Number XX - Confirmed".
Yes its 3-5-3 config.
Out bound I have 2 seats where the config goes from 5->4 due to the shape of the aircraft and seatguru say its a good seat.
Inbound, towards the back, it drops from 3-5-3 to 2-4-2 and I got a "2" aisle seat so we could sit together and sleep as its a night flight.
It just seemed too easy to bag these seats and I know AA are in chapter 11 and therefore need cash........

You are lucky. BA only allow you to choose seats for free with an online check-in 24 hours before the flight.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Posher travellers get much longer!
I'm not posh though.0 -
In fairness buying a fully flex economy ticket gives instant seat selection, as does buying a ticket in F - both without airline status, but a little excessive just to choose a seat for free. You also get free seat selection at time of booking by using certain travel agents.Legal team on standby0
