I don't buy for our two cats but they always get a cardboard box and scrunched up wrapping paper balls to play with so still fun for them
The horse is getting a nice new English leather headcollar but thats more for me really as he doesnt really care, lol :rotfl:Ant. :cool:0 -
I got my cat catnip, its hilarious to watch them with the toy.!! I always get her an advent calendar, and she has turkey for her dinner on Christmas day, and boxing day.0

Morning all!
I'm making some catnip pillows for the cats in our extended family (4 in total)- just simple squares stuffed with the catnip I've found here.
A few people have said it's a bonkers idea and that you shouldn't get gifts for pets. What do you think? Do you give your pets gifts at Christmas?
My parrot is getting presentsShe'd probably love them wrapped up too!

I ALWAYS wrap my boys (2 Toy Poodles) a pressie each. Normally a toy wrapped around a treat so they can smell it, that way I know they will open it themselves.
They love me all year long and are there for me on a good or bad day...Sure they deserve it ...0 -
I think its more bonkers NOT to get your pets presents! I celebrate their birthdays and get them Christmas presents - they're part of my family! They get advent calendars too (the pet ones).
Last year I made stockings for my dog and my mum's two dogs and I am just in the process of making one for my sister's new addition
Who cares what others think!
Here are the stockings...The more one gets to know of men, the more one values dogs.0 -
Our cats aren't remotely interested in Christmas, but it's the first Christmas for our dog, and last week OH (who is OBSESSED with him) took him Christmas shopping... carried him round Pets at Home, held stuff out to him and anything he looked interested in he got, including a giant bone that's a good 10 inches bigger than him and probably weighs more, too.
It'd last an Irish Wolfhound for months and ours is a spaniel.

Haha Abbymoo that is brilliant! Although Pets at Home are sneaky...they put their balls *just* at dog level...so my dog can help himself whenever he goes in there! I end up paying for various toys when I never went in with the intention of buying any!The more one gets to know of men, the more one values dogs.0

Last year I gave my 2 cats a roasted phesant between them over a day or so. I've never seen the go mad for anything like that.0

I stumbled on this old thread and a similar one and loved them so much I've created a 2021 version, though this new one is specifically about birthdays:
Do your pets get birthday presents?
I have friends who buy their cats and dogs anniversary and Christmas gifts as well as souvenirs when they go on holiday. Birthdays are a little trickier though since not every pet owner knows their pet's date of birth.
Thanks for the inspiration, folks!
