  • I always buy the pets in the family presents!

We also get a DVD hamper from our cat for Christmas each year, he's very clever like that :rotfl:

My cat had the presents under the tree all unwrapped before any of us got up on Christmas morning. Sitting there among the wrapping as if butter wouldn't melt. And all because she's used to having one under there for her :)

  • cats love catnip
so be aware when you have made and wrapped their parcels
    they wont leave them alone
so maybe dont put them under the tree

Yes, hide them away well. When our first two cats had their first christmas, my Mum bought them catnip mice and wrapped them up. We put them under the tree and went out drinking on Christmas eve.

When we came home, they had found their presents and extracted them from the pile (no others were touched), opened them, got the catnip mice out of the packets and ripped them to bits :D

The pile of presents for my two pugs is usually the biggest of all the piles under our tree :D

My very naughty lil girl pug, Gertie, loves opening presents and so we have to watch her like a hawk. Last year she managed to pick herself a parcel and decided to open it. The funniest thing was when we discovered what she'd done we realised it was a black and white pug salt and pepper set. We picked the dessicated box and black pepper pug up but just couldn't find the white salt one. After searching high and low we found the little white pug tucked up tight in the dog basket!!!! She must have taken a shine to him :p

Awwww! :) My pug, Bertie, has never been interested in opening presents :( but that doesn't stop me wrapping them! He even has his own stocking which Santa fills up with his favourite treats. Last year when I was hanging them before christmas I wondered why he kept sitting in front of it, had a feel and discovered a gravy bone from the year before still left in there!

I agree with everyone else, cats deserve presents just like everyone else - unless they have been very, very naughty
  • My cat always has a new toy or something for Christmas! We dont wrap it but it does go under the tree and she normally sniffs it out lol
So much for 'Money Saving' ;)
  • I don't think it's any different from getting babies presents. Neither animals nor babies have any concept of Christmas!
I sometimes get the cat something cat nip-y.

I should have added. There was no cat nip under my tree, my cat is just a wee monster for opening things lol. We usually leave the tight wrapped things under there, like chocs etc. But last year I was being super organised. And the whole lot were opened looking for her pressies

My mogs like opening the childrens presents.. they have no interest in catnip or the whitefish my sister carries around in her bag.. They will fight to the death over peas and my crazy cat loves crumpets.
