Nothing wrong with treating the pets at xmas
My old rat used to get a Rum Ball from the bakery made to look like a xmas pudding
The cats usually enjoy any wrapping paper/boxes left about (one tries to eat the tree EVERY year..... ) but I get a nice box of catnip in too. They cats love it and it makes a 'nice'* tea for an upset stomach if you've over done things so win win
*'nice' in the sense that it doesn't strip your throat of all moister or make you want to wash your mouth out.....tastes like.... green house with a hint of compost....NOT recommended for hang-overs!"0 -
The people who say its daft I think are just not pet people, they don't understand the joy a pet brings and how they do become part of the family. Our dog and cat will each have an advent calendar, and on Xmas day a stocking with treats and a toy in. Our dog Archie is 1 on 21st Dec so it's his first Xmas with us, hoping he doesn't think the Xmas tree is a place to !!!! his leg! The shops all have a vast array of pet Xmas gifts, because people buy them0

Whyever not treat your pets?
There are people who religiously buy sweets for neighbours children who couldn't tell you their age or gender - at least you & your pets have a genuine relationship!
I see my neighbours & their dog more often than I do their children, so this year, a bottle of red (our default courtesy) & a chew toy indicated!0 -
I noticed a post by a cat charity on facebook yesterday https://www.facebook.com/haworthcat they are selling catnip mice to raise funds. I love the comments about being opened if the post arrives before the owner is home .0

Pets are part of the family and should have presents to open Xmas day! For those who think money is an issue, my cat even plays with all the wrapping paper
a free gift!

Who cares what other people think? I enjoy making/buying things for pets. Plus for older relatives who have everything they need, something pet related is an idea.0

Maybe I should get them jumpers
It'd be worth it for the scowls alone, plus the older ones are feeling the chill a bit more these days.... onward to the baby section of A*da!
