Why do you want to cancel?
Because you can't afford the increase or because you no longer want their service and plan to go elsewhere?
It doesn't matter where you go, they will put up their prices as well.0 -
Most likely if you phone up to cancel, they will offer you a better deal to keep you on as a customer.
The ones to lose out will be the customers who pay full price month after month for a package they rarely use the added channels0 -

Who said the increase is less than 10%? My monthly bill is £26 with my line rental paid up front on the line rental saver. Queried my personalised increase of £4.50 per month. Having been told this is correct AND my line rental saver would also increase in April I told them to cancel. I was offered a discount of £4 per month, leaving my monthly outlay virtually the same.0

It was Sky who were able to avoid having customers leave early without ETC by virtue of having it written into their contract that price rises below 10% were allowed. OFCOM's ruling will obviously change this from now on..
This a bit of a myth, I used to work in the telecoms industry and was close to the legal side and people who dealt directly with Ofcom.
For all broadband and TV services you have the right to cancel for free, with any provider, if a price increase is "to your detriment", even if that is 1p - you just need to call them to tell them so.
Ofcom are already investigating some providers over their % increase rules and they will be forcing mobile providers to follow the same rules i.e. any price increase, however small, will result in the customer being allowed to cancel free of charge.0
