St.Fagans say 3-4 hours to appreciate all they've got.
"3-4 hours? If your name is Hussein Bolt" was the opinion of one staff member, & we agreed! A couple of hours if you just go to the (right) Church, but take a picnic (& Cross Country pushchair if needed) and all seasons weather gear & plan to spend as much of the day as you can!0 -
Just watched the Tudor Feast - lovely, thanks for that!0

I saw the bakery and went in.... but I'm afraid the sight of the wasps landing on everything put me off buying anything to eat.
Pub across the road is nice though, but pricey (read the menu).
There's also a coffee shop and a canteen/restaurant in the main visitors building (up the steps from the car park)
If you are going to try and see all the buildings I'd suggest a couple of days to do it - the 'big house' or castle and it's gardens, lakes, workshops etc can take 3 or 4 hours on it's own. http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/2241/
Another teashop/cafe in the castle as well.0 -

Church was a real surprise inside! There was a choir singing when I went, not "organised", it was some group from elsewhere who'd just booked a minibus trip to visit and decided between themselves that when they got to the church they'd all have a proper sing song.
It'd be "fun" to sneak some sausages into the roundhuts and give them a roasting on a stick0 -

Am looking at Beamish, we could do that one.
I have fond memories of many many school trips and trips with brownies and guides!
They have just opened a new bakery which is apparently lovely, and no visit is complete without a trip to Davy's Fried Fish!
You need a full day to go and see everything though, but the buses and trams make it easier to get about :-)
My favourite part is the pit village - sometimes in the cottages they will be sitting making proggy mats, or baking :-)the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0
