Look like it could be interesting. Think a lot of the technologies wil be the same as Tales from a Green Valley but of course many of them would have been revolutionary at the time.
There probably was this brief period after Henry VII took the throne and the various other "pretenders" were seen off when people were able to grow crops, improve property, and not feel that they were permanently at risk of losing everything in another civil war.
Combine that with demand for exports and the Rennaissance finally taking hold here............If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Really enjoying this one. Always fascinating to see the detail they go to.
Husband is expressing relief that codpieces have gone out of style!0 -
I'm still all in a witter after that close-up of Peter's codpiece

I didn't see the Green Valley so this was new to me, totally loved it. Funny how anything used/invented centuries ago always seems to be so sensible and simple
I wonder what they're going to do with all of them peas though.. 0 -
People probably started to have better lives 'cos after 'the black death' almost halved the population , the Church and other bug land owners were desperate for workers and this was a time that common folk had a bit of choice in work.
Enjoyed the first show but happy i didn't have to live at the time.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Love these kind of programmes. I was lucky enough to visit the museum they used in this series and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a love of 'how we used to live'.
