So have you complained?0 -
Only got the email this afternoon. Will probably call in after I get the actual letter. I've pretty much decided to leave as they try it on far too often and a 10% increase is way above inflation. Will post up what, if anything, they offer.0

Still no letter but I called in anyway. The menu system has changed and I'm not certain I got to retentions. I was transferred by the first lady I spoke to but all I asked the bloke I was put through to was up to what date I could cancel without penalty as I was tired of having to call in about price rises. He just told me end of January (which I suspect is incorrect) and showed no interest in pushing me to stay.
I've ordered Plusnet Fibre - £100 cashback from Quidco if it works which is better than the £38 TopCashBack were offering. No date fixed yet but I did pick 3 before Christmas - no idea if I'll get the dates or the cashback yet. I don't doubt I'll get some sort of offer from VM when I call to cancel but unless I'm treated to another no-show by Openreach it will be too late.
I may be on my way from cable to fibre but my experience last time around teaches me not to count on that.

I thought he was wrong. I've checked the T&C and to avoid early termination penalties I must cancel giving 30 days notice and "Such notice must be given within 30 days of the increase in charges or changes to the services or this agreement being notified to you." Assuming the email counts that means I need to cancel by 2nd January not the end of January. My phone line is being installed on 19th December but I'm not sure about the fibre install. This is rather annoying as if it gets delayed I could end up with no web access.0
