Well I submitted my Appeal online to POPLA & got a letter from UKPC today.

    Dear Jonah76

...We understand your frustration and appreciate the inconvenience this has caused you...whilst we feel the Parking Charge was correctly issued, we have decided, as a gesture of goodwill, that the Parking Charge will be cancelled...

Thank you to everyone who has assisted me directly & indirectly from other posts. This feels very satisfying BUT does this count as a victory as far as the Forum are concerned as strictly speaking no decision was made by POPLA :A
  • Jonah76,

That is a great result - they might look like real fools though trying to justify the "ticket" you were issued with in the light of this :

Well done! That's a POPLA win without POPLA having to decide - UKPC bailed out and it's not surprising.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Gesture of good will? Yeah, rite!!!

They knew they were on a hiding to nothing, no good will about it. They just wanted to save the £27 POPLA fee and another certain POPLA defeat for UKPC.

Any PPC ticket overturned is yet another victory for the forums.

    All thanks to you guys...

I saw in another thread that UKPC may well have lost the contract at Riverside Northampton. This will be a shame as they are a known entity & fairly easily defeated.
  • Well done Jonah - as you submmitted the appeal to POPLA, it is my understanding that the PPC still pays the £27 fee anyway - success!
  • Hi

I got two tickets from UKPC and I'm over the time when I could pay them at a reduced price.

Today I received two letters from 'Debt Recovery Plus' saying if I don't pay by 12th Feb they 'will recommend to the creditor's solicitor that court action should be taken to recover what you owe'. There is a phone number for Debt Recovery Plus but no phone number other than a customer service line on the original letters.

    Should I continue to ignore?

    Cheers.

  • Sorry. Just couldn't find how to start a new thread (demo vid didn't seem to correspond to the functions I had available). Sorry if I caused offence.
